Happy Sunday, All.  I'm getting ready to hit the sack and thought I'd stop in for a minute.

Have to get up early (later this a.m.) to pick up some supplies for my mother-in-law and my mom who both live at the same assisted living facility in town.  The weather is supposed to be bad -- heavy rain and winds -- so we decided to eat breakfast with the moms at the assisted living facility.  We'll bring them their shopping list of supplies when we go.  So, anyway, because we procrastinated, we have to shop before breakfast.  Which means that it's hardly worth going to bed because the alarm is going to go off in just a few hours.  Well, it did feel good to lounge around and nap with the rain pounding on the roof today.

So much going on with everyone.  Lots of challenges and sadness.  My aunt died this past Monday from complications with diabetes.  Her daughter called today and we chatted for a while.  She is overwhelmed with grief.  Even though I know things will get better for her over time, it was hard to hear the pain in her voice.

Take some time for yourselves today.

Good morning everyone and if you are one of the many that send good wishes for my knee surgery on this past Tuesday. thanks . Im doing great. went home on Friday...I have already progressed for sure. Pain is being controled with percocet 1 every 4 hours as needed. if not exercising dont really need it that much.
Doing upper body weight lifting and lots of walking. have home health nurses coming out 3 times a week and also having p.t. 3 times a week ...they couldnt believe how well i am progressing ....i hate the feeling you get when you put your leg down for the first time in awhile...you know the blood rushing to the wound site. ouchies !!!!!! but it passes soon. .DH is being the adoring nurse maid and grandkids have all been calling to see how im doing so ...just wanted to let a lot of you also know.
love and hugs .. im wondering if i have a urine infection again...i am going to the bathroom about 5 times an hour....i am wondering if monday morning i will call my pcp and have her check it.
love to all of you........Jan

Jan, I would most definitely have your doctor check you for a UTI. I am so glad that you are doing so well...but knowing you I had no doubt that you would since you are one determined lady!

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

Make sure you drink lots of cranberry juice.

Glad you're doing well. Doing the PT is the most important part ... although even with doing it, I'm still in pain and have a swollen leg ... my PCP just says I have leaky vains ... what the hell does that mean? All I know is it hurts like hell most of the time if my leg is down.

Sounds like you have lots of people helping you out. But the most important thing to do is get up and walk ... it will help your progress much more (this is from someone who is forced to get up and walk because she has no one else to do it ... kitties won't get things for me!)

Enjoy the rest and the nursing care!

Jan, So happy to see you this morning. Remember that each day will bring you closer and closer to your cherished health and independence. I remember that first few days of physical therapy. . . not fun but so necessary! I'd sure check on that frequent bathroom run. First UTI I had I called the nurse and said"Can you have a bladder infection with no pain?" She said that if I waited long enough the pain would come. . .so I got to the doctor!
