((((  Huggs ))))    my thoughts and prayers are with you.  I care for my Mom also.  I dread the time when I have to put her in a facility.   Focus on the wonderful things in her and your life and know this is part of it.  Easy to say...  I'm glad you are there for her.

Jacki:

Sorry about your mom ... my thoughts are with you and your sister. I'm sure this is a tough time for you, but she may rally. We thought Aunt Bernice was on her last legs in August, and she lasted nearly two more months, so who knows. It's important to spend as much time as you can with her right now.

Good morning Ruth and OFF friends,

I'm working for another hour and a half, planning to get the laundry caught up and some house things done.  Trying to get in touch with my daughter to invite them over today for dinner, but not sure if they will be able to make it or not.

Went to the "pouch party" yesterday and had a really nice time.  It was really nice chatting with other people who are waiting to have RNY and ones that have already had it.  Watching someone cook "live" was really cool.  She made some really good dishes.  I'll share the recipes later when I have more time.

Connie, thanks for the well wishes for my knee.  I hope you are doing well and feeling great too!  The steroid has worked wonders on my knee....it's unbelievable.

Well, I'd better get back.  I haven't been to the forums much since time has been an issue, but I'm hoping to get all caught up on what's been going on with everyone!

Have a SUPER Sunday and enjoy this glorious day!

Debbie

You're awake and on the computer so you could start our day for us!!!  Glad to see you start us off, Ruth. Hope things get better for you, what ever they may be!

Our friend Christa's daughter called me at work yesterday morning at 10:30 to tell us that her mom had passed away at 1:09 that morning. So very sad. A 14 yr old shouldn't have to deal with those things, much less make that kind of phone call. Bless both of them.
Christa was a kind and loving spirit, a single mom who's ex is in prison. She was a wonderful and caring person who fought like the Devil to survive as long as she did with this brain tumor. Christa will be missed by many. She died in AZ, so we don't know what arrangements are being made here. I do know that her dad is bringing Keeley back here to live.

Not much going on this morning. Grocery shopping and such. Symphony this afternoon with the kids, then home to watch the Charger game.  Let me tell you, the game and the symphony are both at 3:00. If it weren't for a DVR I'd be hard pressed to decided which to do!

Hope everyone has a great day. Take care of yourselves.

Susan

I slept in until 7 a.m. this morning......my brother and his wife are coming up from Terre Haute, Ind. later today and will stay with me for the next three days....I always give them the master suite so they have their own private bathroom.  That means moving all my "stuff" to the guest bathroom, changing the bed, and moving the clothes I will wear for the next few days.....I enjoy having them tho' and haven't seen them for two years -- my brother has heart problems and diabetes so they don't travel much and it's a six hour trip up here.

Went to church last evening, so I can get things organized today.  Making some soup, chicken salad, a fruit salad, pumpkin bread, and some other things to have ready for us.   There will be a luncheon after the funeral so that meal is taken care of.  I am taking off Monday so I will have to work Wed., Thurs. and Friday...it's going to be a very busy week.

I don't like to work on Sunday, but sometimes it's just necessary and I'm sure I will be forgiven this time.

Have a blessed day and lots of good thoughts and well wishes for everyone on this board ...... so many issues in our lives, but we will survive.

Hugs,
Pat r.

Pat, I just wanted to let you know that I am so sorry about the death of your BIL. I know that it is so hard to lose those that we love but knowing that they go to a better place helps some. Know that you and your family remain in my prayers for acceptance and peace.

Know that I am there for you if you need to talk...and that I am sending my love and hugs to you along with my prayers too. Make sure you take care of yourself too.

Good morning everyone.  A busy three days started for me yesterday.  At least it shortened a little bit when Eddie's ball game was cancelled.

I worked in the morning while Mary ran around and did a couple of small chores.  Yesterday afternoon Mary gave away a part of herself.  In 20 years in Spain, we had collected some stuff.  Yesterday Mary donated about 17 paintings and about a dozen wine pitchers to a Spanish restaurant in Dallas, Cafe Madrid.  There are two of them, we went to the one on Bishop, by the Dallas Zoo.  They were so nice, and immediately put some of the stuff up.  We ate a quick meal there and they would not let us pay.  That was not the idea of it, it was a donation.  But it was very nice of them.

Last night went out and saw my friend's band.  Stayed out way too late.  But had a great time.

Today, church service honors the veterans, of  which I am proudly one.  After that we are going out to McCormick and Schmidt's, a nice seafood restaurant.  They are treating the veterans to a free meal.  So I will eat for free and pay for Mary gladly.

After that, we have support group meeting.  I am running it for the first time.  The leader did not want to cancel it, but she had something come up and emailed me asking me to cover for her.  I am honored.

Then work tonight for 4 hours.  Come home and sleep, get up for a doctor's appointment for Mary, checking on the progress of her Parkinson's disease.  Then we get Macon.

Gotta go.  Sunday School is waiting for me.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

George, I read your post about Macon and I think that all of you are going to one big happy family. It is always special to get a new furbaby and they have such ways of wiggling themselves into our hearts and lives. Let us know how it goes...we are anxious to know.

Good morning everyone. I am here but I don't think for long. It is soon going to be time to hit the bed again for a morning nap.

I feel terrible not going to church today but I was up most of the night with this terrible coughing. It just takes it all out of you...and while you cough you think that the front of your chest is going to come out your back since it hurts clear through from the front to the back. Bill was feeling better yesterday but he now has the cough and I told him that the cough is the last thing to go when you get something like this. I learned that many years ago and it has always held true.

It got so warm yesterday....it hit 71 and today is suppose to he a bit higher. They said last night on the weather that they think that we will break the high temperature record. It is a record of 73 I think and it was made in 1931 I want to say but I might be wrong. Oops...my mistake...I am NEVER wrong but sometimes mistaken. ha ha  But anyway I have my sliding door open all the way and the breeze coming in a *****illy but not bad. I figure it will get some of the germs out of here and I might as well do it while I have the chance...because there won't be many times like this around here that is for darn sure. I wish that there would be a winter of weather like this but no such luck here. It won't be long and we will be shoveling Lake Michigan out of our front yards and from around our cars that might be covered completely by the lake.

I did some grocery shopping yesterday. Trudy and Bill and I went to a store in Gary...but you can't tell it was Gary...it was so nice and clean and not scary either. It is called Country Market and it has some really good buys. I got some nice meat and it was a pretty good deal. Trudy has been there before and she has told me about it and she told me about the sale they were having and we decided to go. I am glad that we did. I don't think that I would want to go there all the time...there was sooooo many people! OMG! They were coming out of the woodwork I think.

Nothing really planned for today so I think it will be a day of television, reading, napping and playing games on Facebook. That sounds like a good day to me.

I am sending love and hugs to all and my prayers are being said for everyone too. Times are so hard and it just seems like most of the time it is one thing right after another but knowing that we have people we love and who love us back is one of the greatest things we have....so thanks so much for letting me love you and for loving me too. You are all a huge blessing to me. You will never know how huge of a blessing either. Have a great day and know that you are loved!

that tells what kind of life you have lived.
