Happy Thanksgiving Jacki and all my OFF friends.
We all have so much to be thankful for despite the trials and tribulations we've all had this past year. I know each and everyone of us is thankful for our WLS that has made us more healthy and happy.
May you all have a blessed day with family and friends, safety if you are traveling, and remember that turkey is good for us and just a small helping of the other goodies is okay for today.
Hugs,

Done! Your Ticker:
Good morning, ya'll.
Wow, everyone must be busy with holiday preparations. I made almost everything ahead! I will make the apple pie this morning. I want the house to smell fantastic when everyone gets here. Our son is in charge of the deep fried turkey, so nothing to do there. My DIL keeps asking what she can do to help, but she knows in her heart that I want/need to do it all myself. Especially this year. Just to prove to myself that I can. Besides I am a control freak and have OCD. She is a sweetheart and basically her and the grandsons clean everything up after dinner. THAT is help enough for me.
I hope everyone that is travelling has a safe trip, and everyone that is staying home to entertain has a successful meal full of love. And for those who are staying home and eating by themselves - if this is by choice, enjoy your solitude and your meal. - if this is NOT by choice, my thoughts are with you, and I wish you were close enough to come share our dinner with us.
Everyone have a fantabulous day.
It is a time to reflect on the past and look into the future. It is a time to be thankful for what we do have. Not what we don't. Be thankful you can share your meal with loved ones and friends. Just being together sharing in the day is precious.
Yes it is a lot of work, it takes hours to prepare and ten minutes for everyone to eat. But, they are happy with the comfort of the food and the scents of something homemade with love.
May God bless you all on this Thanksgiving and everyday to come
Mary
I am on my way. What a ride it has been.

I'm so grateful for all of you .. I wouldn't have made it without you!
It's overcast but the sun is trying to peak out. I have to get my buns in gear and get ready for the drive to Chicago. Dinner isn't until 5 p.m. but I'd like to get there early enough to visit with everyone, and I have to pick up my mom too. Fortunately, I see no snow outside, and none forecast ... well, they said maybe some tonight (here) ... don't know what is forecast in the Chicago area.
I slept fitfully last night ... lots of pain. I was in a lot of pain when I got home from work and very tired, and the pain got worse the longer I stayed up. And then when I went to bed, I really hurt. Still in pain, so I think it's going to be a long day driving and sitting. Must be the weather. At least I was out of work by 5 ... could have been out of there earlier but I stuck around and helped out the news side with advance pages (see, I'm a good team player, no matter what my boss said!).
Well, I should get off the computer and get the litter boxes scooped. Have a happy Thanksgiving and I'll see you Friday evening probably.
I hope your day is filled with family friends great food great fun and wonderful memories.
Prayers going up from our house for safe travel and for anyone who might be alone today or just simply needful of prayer for any reason.
Dinner first at noon with hubby's family, then tonight with mine. Its that tough first holiday without mom. You all know how those are. We decided to do something in her honor though we are going to decorate cookies for the care center she was in for the past months of her life. she loved doing that and the patients all loved eating them!! We are all also bring ideas to decide on a new tradition to start for the next holiday.
You all have a safe and wonderful day !!!!
I have the turkey in the roaster. Going to make the ham, turnips, and beans. Stuffed mushrooms were made up last night and will be put in the oven at my son's house. That being said, I guess I am out of here. God bless you all, I will miss you. Geez, next week is going to involve a lot of reading to catch up.
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
