OT: Rant-Hurt Feelings

((((Jan))))

I was thinking it might also be a girl wants her own mommy kind of thing too.  :P

When my first husband had heart surgery, I needed help.  He was completely an invalid for the first few weeks and we had a six month old baby, plus I was newly pregnant with our second child.

I wanted and needed my mother but she was (and still is) dysfunctional and couldn't/wouldn't help.

My MIL drove down from LI (we lived in MD) to help me.  I was grateful to her for doing it.  I still wanted my mommy though.

I don't know if that has anything to do with it, maybe not.

But I know it hurts because I've been set aside like that (as a stepmom) too.

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Jan, I am so sorry that you are going through the same thing that I went through too. I know that it hurts but I have learned that it will change.

Just give her time and know that the time that you spend with you little one will be wonderful. Before you know it he will coming to Grandma and Grandpa's house and loving every moment of it. I know that Kayden is happiest here with us. He is loved and he knows it just as yours will too. They automatically know when they are loved, safe and happy. It must be a baby instinct I guess.

Enjoy the time you have and know that there is going to be an entire lifetime to have him in your life. There is going to be plenty of time to build the great memories and to pour the Grandma love on him....and it just gets better the older he gets. Kayden is now almost 8 months old and the time with him just keeps getting better. He is working on talking and you show him something a few times and soon he is doing it.

Congratulations on the new chapter of you life....and from my short amount of experience it is the best chapter in you book of life!

Sending you much love and plenty of hugs...and give some of them to that beautiful little grandson of yours too for me! Nothing is better than lovin' from the grands....it is GRAND!!!!

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

Have missed you Brenda.  Hope everything is going ok with you.
Things are going great here.  Hormones I guess were running rampant.
I've been helping out a lot here, biting my tongue and giving suggestions almost only when asked.  I sneak a few in here and there and the kids are pretty open to them, or at least they fake it well.
I am having the time of my life here.  Saturday I go home and leave the kids to parent on their own.  Being a Gram is pretty cool!

I can't believe Kayden is 8 months old already.  Seems like yesterday....
It is what it is.
If He brings you to it, He'll bring you through it...
