Hi George and fellow posters and friends!

Went shopping yesterday and bought a few things.  Not going to be a very expensive Christmas but it is the thought and spirit that counts.

Going to wrp them all today and going to give the kids some money too.  Not much.

Not doing anything special.  Bought myself a pair of 16 size jeans yesterday.  Don't think I have worn that size since I was born.  I have about 50 more pounds to go and I will be happy.  It is coming off slow and that is frustrating but I keep at it.

I know the support here is wonderful.  I feel like I can say anything without being judged.  And you all know where I have been and where I am going.  And , how it is.

Have to get Christmas cards out too.  Procrastinating, procrastinating.  Not a good thing.  But I do it.  Don't know why.

I want to bake cookies but I don't think I am.  Maybe I will make a cheesecake and some of that pinapple and cottage cheese with marshmellows and cool whip/.

It is good, maybe I can make it with sugar free jellow.  Going to try that this year.

Well Stay healthy and keep smiling!

Mary

People are spending less and less on Christmas these days.  But that is a good thing really.  To me it shows we are making sure the day to day gets taken care of first.

I read an article the other day that showed the average person spet over $1000 for Christmas presents just three years ago.  Two years ago it went down to $925 or so.  Last year it was $480.  And this year they expect it to be lower.  The economy is bad.  We have to learn to live within it.

morning all!
last week; we missed our garbagemen--they have been picking up late in the day for more than 2 years--we were home well before they "normally" show--so--this week we have double--PLUS all the stuff i've been sorting!!! so-this morning at 7:10 am there they were--and our garbage is still in the overcrowded garage so animals don't get into it ....grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

in a few minutes i need to get dressed and get michael up;potty the dogs and get on the road by 830--his surgery was moved ahead from 245 to 1145 ! i am prepared to spend the nite there and so now he says maybe i should just drop him off and come home-the dog sitter came last nite--but he knowsi have so much still to pack..i'm gonna see how he is after surgery-and what time it is!!! and i may just come home....

sending hugs and prayers to all..sorry to see marc sick...glad to see jacki and hoping for her hubby to come home!

a bunch of posts last nite for me to read-later!

so grateful for you all-my family!!!!

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Garbage men there at 7 AM???  I think that is when ours gets up out of bed.

I used to put the garbage out the night before, but since I started working overnights, I put it out when I get home in the morning at 6:45.

Before WLS I envisioned wearing dainty little nighties instead of the tent like gowns to bed. 200 lbs later and I just want to be WARM. Wrapped in flannel, long johns, and electric blankets is heavenly.

Last night at the support group clothing exchange I snagged a 3X sweatshirt. Big SmileThat size used to be very snug, hardly fitting over my "Italian background". It now hangs to my knees and is perfect for keeping warm and cozy.

I have to laugh at the pictre of tiny ;little you in a 3x sweatshirt....

My favorite piece of clothing, from now or "before" is a size 3x "Fredonia University" gray sweatshirt that my son got me for Christmas one year when he was in college.  In 1993.  I've washed it so much it's now almost white.  I can wear it with everything.  "Cause it covers me to my knees, and you can't see what else I have on.

And it's really, really warm.......

Candy,

There is something to be said for a well worn BIG sweatshirt. They keep us warm and cover a multitude of ripples.
