Good Morning, All

I just got home from work, and I'm still wound up from the drive home.  It's been snowing all day, and we got another 4 inches or so since I went into work at 3.  Nothing is plowed, and it's SLIPPERY!!!!!  I took the long way home, as those roads are usually in better shape, but not tonight.  It was slicker than pig sh**!!

Not my favorite way to get home....AIRBORNE!!!  Then I had to back into the driveway through a 2 foot snowdrift.

Someone tell me again why I continue to live in Western New York????

I hope everyone has a good day.  Mine will start later than most.  I'm headed for bed.

Good  Morning Candy and Everyone,

I'm glad you made it home safe Candy.    I hope you get some good rest tonight.

We haven't had to much snow here just wish it wasn't so darn cold it makes it hard to water horses etc.

My two little grands are back for the week.  As tired as they make me I missed them while they were home with their parents over the holidays.    They will be buying the house down the road from us Feb 1 then I will be just a normal daytime babysitter for them.   After a year and a half of having them Sun-Friday it will be different.

Hope everyone has a happy day!

Melissa

Hi Candy,
I have never driven in snow- I just can't imagine that... when you retire maybe a move to another state that is not snow bound much?
I'm getting ready for bed- back to school tomorrow. Our librarian died the day before winter break. She was sick but no one said it was serious. It makes me wonder if she had cancer and just never told anyone. It's going to be hard to explain to the children.
So- where ARE you going next month?

You haven't experienced life if you've never driven in snow!  Over and over, your life flashes in front of you.  Especially during the slow motion of those 360 degree spins!

The worst time last night was pulling out of the driveway from work onto the main road.  I spun almost completely around, but there were no other cars around, and I was going really slow, so I just took my foot off the gas and hung on.  It's all country out here, miles and miles of roads, and lots to plow, with few to plow them at 11 at night.  And of course, not much sanding of the roads at that time of night, either.  My drive home is pretty isolated, and for about half of it there's no cell reception, and the houses are far apart.  Many don't have house phones, either.  I took the long way for the better roads, but I have to say I was a little nervous till I hit the state roads again.

I made it fine, just took a while.  Tonight will be a repeat of last night.  It's snowing up a storm already.

I'm sorry to hear about your librarian.  It's especially hard on the kids.

Where am I going next month???

It's a Thelma and Louise trip!!!!!  It's cold and I'm tired of it, and Janet's ready for a vacation, so we're going on a 7 day cruise out of Galveston.  Four stops, a casino on board, and someone else makes our beds (which is the only way mine would ever get made....)  We'll see Terry T the day before and have a pj party then head to the ship in the morning (after Starbucks, of course). ( If we can get Terry out bed early enough.  That girl LOVES to sleep in on her days off!!!!!)  The plan is sunshine, shopping, margaritas, and zip lining.  Not necessarily in that order....  Maybe Murray, the man of my dreams will show up.  Who knows what will happen when the girls go on vacation!

Janet and I both seem to need something to look forward to a couple times a year, and this is the time I need to get away from Western NY and the snow and cold.  The planning is fun, and the trips are fun, and I'm developing a real taste for traveling.  So why not?!

Thinking of all my sistahs in the warm climates.  Jealously.  Very Jealously.

I've also never lived in snow, never shoveled snow, and only driven in the snow when I drive UP to the mountains to ski - then drive back DOWN to a warmer climate.  We are indeed blessed, aren't we?

How did the kids do today?  I am so sorry to hear about your librarian.  What a shocker.

That snow, ice and especially the airborne part would scare me if I had to drive it it!  It was 70 here today and we had our door's open.  Beautiful day in the desert!  Back to work in the morning.

Brutally cold here in Southern NY too Candy!!!  We just didn't get the snow you did!
I went to college in Buffalo...lord can it snow there!!!

Today is back to school for me.  I'm actually looking forward to going back..however, if it was just a little bit warmer???

Tonight is my support group in Ithaca.  Not sure if I'll be going ..the hills there are treacherous in the snow and they got lots this last week end.

Everyone have a good day...those in the cold regions stay warm.

((((HUGS)))) to those who need them... blessings to all.

Good morning all.  Fixin' to be a cold week here in Dallas.  They are saying Thursday and Friday it will get down to 17 degrees.  The high temperature over the next 10 days will be 51, with the low being below freezing on at least 6 of those days.  Guess I will have to warm up the car and then come back inside.  Don't feel like sitting in a cold car while it warms up.

Had a wonderful weekend, spending it almost entirely with just Mary and I.

Hope everyone has a nice day.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
