Good morning Candy and everyone who follows,
My youngest went back to school today so I'm up early for the first time in nearly two weeks.  It's still very cooooooold here so I'm going to get right back under the covers as soon as I'm done with this post!

Candy, so glad you made it home safe.  I love the snow but never enjoyed driving in it!  I think I would love western New York as long as I could get everything air lifted in. ;)  It looks like we're still going to retire to the eastern shore of Delaware.  There at least I'll have the beach!

Yesterday was such a bitter cold day.  I went out only to pick up my daughter from a sleep-over.  The rest of the time, I stayed indoors reading or writing.  I made a sweet Italian sausage polenta pie for dinner and that was quite filling.

Have a marvelous Monday everyone!

Snowstorm Good morning Candy & OFFers,
You have such a way with words Candy. PigMade me laugh.
Driving in this weather is not much fun. Too many idiots *****fuse to slow down. Our road was plowed but no salt and several spots kept drifting.

I can't think of anything so I'll just wave good bye. Penguin Wave

It's good to see you posting.  I always smile when I see your avatar in that pretty red outfit.

I don't post too often lately, 'cause I never have much to say.  Today, though, my "chatterbox" gene seems to have kicked in....

Good Morning Candy and off'rs,
Candy and Marcy Thank You for reminding me of the fun times when I lived in Jamestown, and Olean New York. Some time just staying on the road was fun.

I wish everyone a great,safe day.

Good Morning Ms. Candy and Friends,

I'm still a grouch. We spent the whole weekend inside except for venturing out to restock the pantry. Whoopie. I had mentioned early in the day "How about a drive, anywhere?" I figured that was hint enough. I guess not. Hours and hours of football, basketball, CSI, blood and guits movies, followed by tv poker tournament. . . Next weekend I am doing something somewhere else with or without him.

I finally went upstairs and started some sewing projects. Can't read with that kind of tv going, don't like watching it. Why do we have the expensive movie channels and never watchy any? Grouchy, grouchy am I.

I did go for a long walk in the morning with my neighbor. Also joined the new Gold's Gym. I will start today. Kind of a pain for a few months as it is right now in a very small facility while the new one is being completed. Got a really good deal for lifetime. Good deal IF I'll actually show up and use it. For $21.00 a month total lifetime membership: pool, spa, exercise area for women only, first run movie exercise area, all kinds of classes, no extra fees for anything unless you want a personal trainer. Wonder of  "Carter" of "Carter Can" is available. I'd pay extra just to watch him!

Ok enough grouching. I am healthy, I have much to be thankful for, I need to slap myself up side of the face and get over it. 2010 is here and I need to make it a good one. I really need to be my best friend and treat myself accordingly.

Any suggestions for arthritic pain control meds? I think I'm really going to have to start taking something and don't want to end up with an ulcer. All of my joints hurt and ache so much during the night. I use an electric blanket, heating pad, on my feet, flax bag heated in the micro on my neck. . . . I need warmth and sunshine. Watch out any of you in warm climates I may just show up on your doorstep!

We are spending a week with friends in Beaumont, Texas mid February. Should be much warmer there than here. Can't complain tho I do. it's above freezing and snow melted quickly via a Chinook wind a few days ago. Time to make some coffee and get my day going. Have a good one all y'all!

You know, Beaumont is just "shoutin" distance from Galveston.....maybe we can catch up while you are here!

I hope we can. We fly into Houston on Feb17. We'd be in Beaumont until Sunday morning and then head over to San Antonio for 3 nights before flying out of Houston on the 24th. Our friends plan to take us to Galveson for a day trip but it will probably be on Friday. Don't know for sure yet. How far are you from Beaumont? Sure would like to fit it in. My husband may do some driving around with his friend that we're visiting. If so I'll have the rental car and maybe we can meet up somewhere in between. Would love to see you. I'll give you a call as we get closer and have things firmed up. Also trying to decide whether to do the space center or not. Is that where you work? If so, How is it for crowds and walking? Mike hates crowds and has trouble walking very far.

Beaumont is about 90 minutes from Galveston, depending on how crowded the Bolivar Ferry is.

Space Center Houston is next door to Johnson Space Center [where I work] and that time of year the crowds should be minimal.  If you want me to, I can check on discounted tickets for you.  Space Center Houston, from Galveston, is about 30 minutes or the same 90 minutes from Beaumont, up one exit or so from the Ferry exit on I-10.

I will be in New Braunfels the weekend of Feb 19-21 - New Braunfels is about 30 miles north of San Antonio so, between the two locations, we SHOULD be able to catch up at some point.  Which airport are you flying in/out of?

Oh boy! Teri, I think New Braunfels is the German community I want to go to. What is going on there? But, darn, we won't be arriving in San Antonio until afternoon of the 21st I believe. We should be able to connect somewhere even if it's at a rest stop! Can you come through San Antonio on Sunday afternoon? We'll figure something out!
