Welcome to Thursday, What is new with you
Hi Carla, Ev and Marcy and those to wake up and post!
Carla I am with you, I need my coffee first thing in the morning.
Ev, Happy Birthday
Marcy, I have started a thread twice. Both times someone was doing it at the same time. Better two than none...:)
Yesterday I found out my dad was rushed by ambulance to the Hospital. He had chest pains. They did a lot of tests and we should hear something today. He is a healthy 82 year old. Bowls and golfs and always up at the Elks club playing cards or games. It was my moms 10 year anniversay of her death yesterday also. I wonder if he was thinking about that? Anyway, When I went to see him he told me he was afraid he was going to die alone and one of would find him on the floor. I think he was really scared, who wouldn't be? But I think it added to his heart stress. He called the lady upstairs from him and asked her to come sit with him until the ambulance came. I felt sorry for him. He still misses my mom so much. We all do.
I told him if he was afraid he could always come and live with me. He laughed and said I would kill you. lol.... So, he had his humour back.. He is a strict and stubborn old fashioned Italian man. He would drive me crazy if he did live with me.
Anyway. Keep him in your prayers today. I am worried about him.
Today, I am going to wait to here how is tests went. He is in a small hospital and my brother knows the head of cardiology at the Cleveland Clinic. He said if he needs anything done, he wants to transfer him. I live about an hour away from where he is at now. The clinic would be an hour and a half.
I have to keep busy today and not think of anything negative. Only positive.
I lost a pound. That is good
Sorry this is so long,
Have a great day and smile at least once today.

Mary,
Oh how I can relate to stubborn old fashioned Italian Dads. After we moved both of my parents in to live with us, Dad needed in home PT, which he totally refused. The PT asked him what he wanted to do? Dad replied, "lay in bed while my wife and daughter wait on me
".
Thanks for giving me a smile today and of course I'll remember your Dad in my prayers.

When my Mom started falling and still wanted to continue living in her home, we got her LifeAlert. She wore a watch type bracelet and if she fell, she just pushed the button and the guy talked to her through her telephone, just like on TV. If she didn't respond to him they would send emergency services out right away. She said she felt so much safer and secure with that bracelet on. When she came down to stay with me for a month or two, we would bring the system with her and set it up at my house. She did fall in my kitchen one time and pressed the button. My husband and son were just in the garage but couldn't hear her. They heard the dogs barking at the man talking thru the phone tho, and came in the house and found Mom on the floor. They told the guy they would take care of her and he got Mom's approval to sign off. It's really beneficial. Back then it cost $35.00 a month and the three of us kids split the cost. A small price to pay for peace of mind. I highly recommend Life Alert to anyone with elderly parents (that would be most of us now).
Prayers for you and your Dad.
