It's very hard to get all of your protein in, when you're early out. We all struggle with that.  It does get easier! :-)

Right now you're stuck with protein powders, but you can add them to puddings, yogurt, milk.  You can get a lot in with cottage cheese and carbmaster yogurt.  You're probably on soft foods by now right?
Grin and bear it...we've all had to...

Thanks, I will try adding to more foods like the cottage cheese you suggested to increase protein intake.

I use the Body Fortress super advanced whey protein powder in the tubs from Wal Mart.  2 scoops is 52 grams of protein.  The good thing about it is you can mix it with hot drinks too.  I mix a scoop in my coffee every morning.  (The Cookies-n-cream is my favorite in my coffee)  I use a hand-held frother to mix it with.  They are about $6.  It looks like a little circular whisk.  Also, for something cold, I put a scoop of vanilla powder in the magic bullet with a cup of skim milk and part of a pack of crystal lite (orange is my fav.  strawberry is good too) with a little ice and mix it up.  It's yummy.

Your cold protein suggestion with orange or strawberry crystal lite sounds good.  I will give it a try.  Thanks for your help!

As the other posters said--it will get better.  Just last night I had a delightful treat/meal/snack.  You might want to try this to keep your protein levels up.. I simply mixed a scoop or orange nectar protein powder in a single serving size Chiobani peach yogurt.  Talk about a double whammy!!!  Today I'm going to try vanilla pro. powder with blueberry yogurt.   Good luck and remember---it's all worth it!!!!

I remember those days ,,( 6 years out now )  I ate cottage cheese and you can add fruit,  the protein added oatmeal from quaker , Peanutbutter   lots of tuna with mayo  , still do to get in my protein and refried beans with cheese and salsa if you want to add that in .  I just ate refried beans with cheese ,,  You can do mashed blackbeans and on and on ,,,  Tuna was a mainstay though .. has lots of protein and eggs too.
I COULD NEVER do the protein powders,,  never have .
Hope there are some ideas here you can use to get you through.  Afer i hit 3 months , it was ALL GOOD and I felt human again.
Hugs
Shirley
