I ain't done it in a while - SO, What's New Revue with you!!(Thursday)
Hey George,
I just had mri of both shoulders and have two rotator cuff tears but the problem is, no surgery for a while. I am doing much better. The tube feedings have put pounds upon pounds on me and all I do is watch my flab fill in. LOL. If all goes well, the will do my revision in May. The last look at my pouch showed vast improvement in the ulcers and so staying on no food is the treatment. I am drinking some and having soups just so I feel like I am human. The majority of my nutrition comes from tube feedings that run continously at night. Since the last post, I've been hospitalized twice for pneumonia and then during the last time, my shoulders were killing me and all the coughing had irritated them and so that's when they looked at them through the mri and said, guess what, you need surgery. I told the doctor, take a ticket and stand in line. I am on a conserve calorie activity plan. Have you ever heard of such a thing? Anyways, I am still alive and kicking and fighting this ulcer thing and hopefully will see health in May. I have learned one thing: a person can put up with a lot in order to live pain free. I can do the tube feedings to keep my abdomen from killing me. They are not that bad and I do put a little coffee in from time to time.
Hope all is well with you all.

Jeannie,
It's so good to hear from you. Sounds like things are moving in the right direction. I know tube feedings must not be great. We were so primed to get our everything from food and much of that was the sensation part of it: smell, taste, etc. However just keep remembering that we need to eat to live not the other way around.
There is much more to life than eating. I keep reminding myself of that! I too have a shoulder than is getting increasingly more painful. Plan to have it checked out in depth in March. It's my left shoulder and I am totally lefthanded. I remember what a pain my knee replacements were so am in no hurry for another surgery either. However, it causes me so much pain at night that it makes my already light sleeping even worse.
You take care and get that Matthew a hug for me when you see him next. A little boy can never get to many hugs.

So glad to see you post about your progress! Considering your accident years ago, I'm sure this rehab is right up there with that. But, the good news is that there is light at the end of this long tunnel.
Seems lots of us are having shoulder trouble here. I had mine operated on in '96, Gary has had both rotator cuffs done. Not fun, but better than the pain.
Please come around more. We all miss you and are hoping you find better health soon!

While it's not pleasant, glad to hear that you are gaining much needed weight and looking forward to things getting better. . .
We've certainly missed you around here and you have been on my mind a lot lately, so glad to read your post and the update on what is going on with you. . . hoping that things get better for you, quicker than anticipated.
Best wishes, Laureen

Ain't it a ***** growing old and getting all these aches and pains? I've had two surgeries on my knee and no improvement. I've given up.
