Friday Morning

Well, here in Michigan it's 3:26 a.m.  I got up at 1:30 because I couldn't sleep.  I let the dogs out and then Gary got up.  We sat and watched TV, hoping it would make us tired again.  NOT...
My laptop has a virus and I need a computer geek to fix it so I'm out in the (heated) garage right now on the desktop.  Gary is here too, riding the exercise bike.  What's wrong with this picture?

QOTD:  What do you do when you can't sleep?  I usually watch TV and it makes me sleepy, but not tonight.
I don't have FFF so if someone else does, please post them.

What is a FFF? 

It's funny (not really) that you both can't sleep.  When I can't sleep, I get up, go down to the other end of the house to my computer and pull up Pokerstars.net.  Then I switch on the TV and start working on my DVR'd shows.  I almost always have something in there that I haven'****ched.

Sorry your laptop has a virus.  There is something wrong with my computer.  Have not had sound on it for about a year.  We are in the process of getting Mary's computer fixed.  Once that is done, we might get mine done.  More than likely we will just buy me a new one though.  Eventually.

FFF = Five (questions) For Friday.  I guess that's something we do on the Michigan board, not OFF.

Have you asked your doc for something to help you sleep?  I had to and it works for me.  Other than that, if I woke up and turned the tv on, I was surely up for the day.  I think it stimulates your senses, gets you wired.

I have been busy crocheting.  Want to get this one done to start another.  I have so much yarn, I have vowed to use it all this winter...  HA!  if I stay committed to doing that.

Not going to do anything special, have to get my avon order in by noon today and sometimes that can be a problem because I forget to watch the time.   Today I won't be late.  Think I will do it early and be done with it.

It is really cold here this morning and it snowed yesterday.  WHEN IS IT GOING TO BE SPRING??   I hate this weather.  

I heard last night from my husband that they may lose their jobs because something GM is going to change.  My husband doesn't work for GM  .  He works for a company who has a contract with them.  Please keep us in your prayers.  If he loses his job, for sure we will be done.

No one is SAFE anymore.  The company usually doesn't tell you until the last minute.

I am hoping this is just a rumour or something.  We won't be able to survive on unemployment and trying to pay for our own insurance.  We will become another statistic of home owners losing the American dream.    At this age we shouldn't you have to worry about this.  I guess I have put it in God's hands.  If this is what he wishes to test us with, then fine.  Somehow we will survive.

Yes....I do understand.....Carrie, my daughter is struggling...single with three kids....unemployment won't cut it. She lost her home this summer....so depressing. She was working two jobs to try and keep the house...didn't workout! She will be working at her job for a couple more weeks...hope she can find a new one soon.
When I went down to pick up my grandchildren Friday I filled the freezer, refrigerator and cupboards for them. It was the least I could do to help her out. I can't afford to do that too often.
I always send money to Jamie for their trips to St Jude's/Memphis too....they leave on Monday. Now I am tapped!!! I will never get my bathroom redecorated!
I hope it is a rumor for your hubby too....life is scary right now!!

Yeah, Mary, I got blindsided four weeks ago when I was told I was being laid off by my newspaper. In Nov. 2008, when we had a round of buyouts, I was told I was one they wanted to keep and not to take the buyout. I couldn't anyway, I was still in bankruptcy and couldn't retire; and there weren't jobs out there for me. I was told so many times that they wouldn't cut my job, and yet here I am, without a job. Next Saturday is my last day, after nearly 31 years in the newspaper business.

I am sorry you have been put through the wringer.  I hope it is a better year for all of us.  That is a long time to be in a career, maybe you will find something new.  My mother used to say "Out of something bad, comes something good". Thinking that will happen for all of us.
