Thanks for the hugs!  I really could use them about now.  I am so stressed over this.

I am hoping everything will work out.  If not.....Oh well then.  We will start again.  You think at this age we would be better off.  We have struggled since we were married.  I guess God doesn't give you more than you can handle.   We have handled a lot..lol

Thanks again Debbie

HI Mary,

I guess the not knowing for sure is what is getting to me now.  I told my husband he should be looking for another job just in case.   It seems we have never had it easy so I guess this is just another test for us.

Thanks for responding, I appreciate it

Mary

Hey Mary,
I don't usually have trouble sleeping.  This morning was just 'special' I guess.  I do have Xanax from before surgery when I had insomnia, but haven't had to use it in months.  It worked great for me.
I sure hope GM doesn't screw up your life too.  I'm a GM Salaried Retiree, so my retirement benefits don't have the protection of the UAW.  We recently got screwed on our health care.  We all had to change to BC/BS with a $5K deductible.
I wish I knew how to crochet.  I can do a single crochet and a double crochet, but other than that I'm lost.  I've made a couple of scarves.  :)  I'd love to learn to make baby afghans so I could make them and donate them to hospitals.  My girlfriend does that with baby quilts.  It's a great idea.
Prayers for your husband and you today.
Jan

Hey Jani...DH is also a GM Salaried Retiree with the Tardes for 44 years and yes, exactly, we dont even have the Union to fight for us...our benefits have taken a beating here too.  We lost alot of coverage and I need six pairs of custom support stockings/year at $325.00 a pair among other things.

I find crocheting very relaxing..I can't knit to save my life!...but I make alot of single stitch afghans/lap blankets and donate them to the hospital Oncology and Dialysis departments.

Hi Jani,

Sorry about your troubles too. It is rough out there isn't it?   I guess we can't really do anything about what could happen.  Just have to stay strong for now.

When you crochet if you know single or double you can make a baby ahghan.  Look on the web for easy baby blankets to crochet.  Tons will come up.   I do have trouble reading the instructions my self.  But if I study them and do it along with the print out.  I can sometimes, figure it out.

Thanks for the prayers Jani....  I will pray them forward...

Good luck to your hubby with his job. Does he work for an auto supplier? I sure know how it is to worry about being unemployed, since I will be there after next week.

Hi Eileen,

I know you will be there soon too.  I am so sorry.  It is scary isn't it?

We won'y know anything for sure for a week or two.  But I think the company is not telling them so they don't go out and find new jobs right away.   He is 52 not easy to find a new job.  People want to hire younger people now a days.  Experience doesn't seem to matter that much anymore.

He works for a company that hauls all the scrap steel away to dump it in different locations.   The pay isn't as good as his old job but he had to take it anyway.  Nothing much out there.   Maybe we will have to move somewhere else.  I wouldn't mind going to the Carolina's.  Maybe he can find another job somewhere else.

I hope things work out for you too.  I am just going to sit and wait to see what happens.

Thanks again and good luck to you

Hi Irish...:)

I don't really know your name.  However I like Irish.  My mom was all Irish so I am half.  AND pround of it.  She was such a witty,  and happy lady.  I miss her.

Thank you for thinking about me.  I hope it is just a rumour and nothing more.  With GM you never know until last minute what they are going to do.

Anyway, what ever happens we will try and survive it.  We have had rough times before and made it.  I guess we will make it through this too.

Thanks again and you take care
