New OFF Group should be visible for now ...

 What is this?

It's a group called "Over Fifty Friends" group and when we made it, we chose not to have the Facebook share button.  The group's open to everyone who's posting on the forum now  :)

 Ok what is it with the "share" function and why start a group to avoid it?

We just don't like the "share" button (share with Facebook) that's on this forum.  We realize that this is the internet and things are public but we just don't want this option on our forum when others are exempted (like R&R and some others).  If they can be exempted, we want the same consideration.

However, we've basically been told to get used to it and that share button is here to stay on this forum.  The only way not to have it is to form a group that chooses not to have that share button.  so since that option is open to us and we don't want the share button, that's what we've elected to do--make the group, I mean.

So far, we like having that option, especially since no one wants to pay attention to what WE want.

Perhaps that's the big issue, bottom line.  We do not want that button on this forum and the powers that be do not care about what we want so ...

I'm ok ..well, feeling a little cruddy after having a tooth pulled and implant.   Between the antibiotics and pain pills, I feel really cruddy.  I;m not sure which is worse - the pain med or the pain.   
I soured on OH with the Rant & Rave forum - while I liked the idea of talking about all sorts of things, I didn't like the small group of thugs.   I have been posting on RNY and here, but not much lately.

I've also been really busy with work.  However, i need the support of a group like OH - I'm finding it difficult to stay on track and have been rather blue about it.

Eeyow!  I'm sorry to hear about having your tooth pulled.  The upside is that the pain will subside eventually.  :P  I understand how you feel about R&R.  I like the idea of talking about all sorts of things too but some people get jumped...but it's like that on the DS board too.  I feel more comfortable here although I still visit other boards.  On the MB I really enjoy Tammy's song of the day posts. 

It's not easy to stay on track without support.  That's cuz there's other issues going on with eating.  For awhile i had no appetite and that was really really good.  My appetite's come back though and that's very bad because i find myself reaching for food that's not healthy for me.  So it really helps to have other people to talk to who are in the same boat as me.  (((hugs))) to you!

 I had a very bad dentist when I first moved here - I was working ridiculous hours and did not pay enough attention, I guess.   I am still paying for that mistake, but at least I found a good dentist.
This was my 4th implant.  I think I paid for college twice over for the dentist's kids.

I do need support with the weight loss - it is not easy.  I find myself avoiding dense meats, because they go down like  a rock, but that is not good because then It is easier to eat the wrong things.

I STILL do not see the "share" button but I wonder if it is because I have a Macintosh?

When you read the thread, if you look on the right--top and bottom--you'll see a bunch of buttons and it says "share".  What it means is that when you click on it, you can copy the entire thread and send it over to Facebook.  That means all your "friends" on Facebook can then read the OH thread and comment on it.  A lot of folks object to it strongly.  The "adult" forums have had the buttons removed and they're glad.  We asked OH moderators to take the "share" button away from us but they won't do it...I guess because we're not "adult" enough.  :P

ETA:  Ok, I'm realizing it's not just sharing on Facebook.  You can also share on MySpace, Google and Twitter.  :P
