Good morning.

A quick fly-by.

Got back to a fairly light load at work after having a week off. That's a good thing.  New hire coming in today so I'll be training the rest of the week.  Will finish unpacking this weekend.....maybe.

Yesterday went pretty well......only a few thoughts of hubby, but it's been 15 years so I've managed to compartmentalize.  Candy made it easier by taking our Thelma and Louise trip. First time in 15 years I've had something to look forward to at Valentine's besides memories of death.  Thank you, Louise!!

Missed the foot of snow while I was gone. That's a good thing.  ONE little patch left in the yard but it will be 60 today so it will be gone.  Now to get the tree limbs cut up, bundled, and put by the curb.

Eating is a problem... I've gained a bit...... clothes are still fitting...but....THAT'S NOT A GOOD THING.

KarenC is in Texas.  Won't be up my way but so hope she's having a good time.

Nothing new here... life just goes on....and on... and on... and THAT'S A GOOD THING.

Hugs and thoughts for all that are hurting and sad.  I can be right there with you but hide it very well, sometimes.  Let's just say..... it's always easier to walk in your own moccasins.

Everyone take care today and make it a splendid day...THAT'S A GOOD THING!!

Well....

Went to see my surgeon yesterday.  She said I am doing great with my weight loss.   I asked her what my goal weight should be.  She said 130 for my height/. I am 5'0'.   About 37 more pounds to go.

Mix up at my bank.  My debit card would not accept my pin.   I tried at 4 different places over a week at different places.  Four calls to customer service.  They didn't help me.  Finally went to the bank and got it resolved.  No one told me why this happened.  I hate banks.

Went to get my new tags for my car yesterday.  Gee, can they get anymore expensive?

Running all over yesterday.  Today will be the same.  Have to take my son about an hour away to take a tow motor test.   I have to wait for two hours.  Going to have to find something to do.  Bummer

Other than that nothing else new.  I am tired already.  I get up way too early anymore.

Peace
Mary

I am on my way.  What a ride it has been.

Oh!  I forgot tell you what happened to me after a long day of running errands!

I have concentrated dish washing soap that comes in a bottle for the sink.  My son filled up both of the containers with it in the dishwasher.  It is mixed with water half and half.  He put full strength and.............My dishwasher was bubbling all over the place. Even coming out of every crevace of the dishwasher.  I had to scoop them up with a bowl, then run rinse twice.  Then wash them with dishwasher soap.  What a mess.  I could have killed him

Ain't kids grand?  He won't empty it but he sure will turn it on!

Peace
Mary

How old is this son?  Should he have known better?  I taught my boys how to do dishes, run the dishwasher, do their laundry and iron.  I'm sure their wives appreciate that now.  Both boys will iron their shirt if necessary, and with dual income couples, they also do their own laundry.  Works out well for them.  Oh, I also taught them to cook.  I didn't have girls to teach, so I did it with my boys!  They don't know how to sew tho, but I'm not very good at it either!  :)
It is what it is.
If He brings you to it, He'll bring you through it...

Good morning Jani,

I have taught my kids things as well.  However I think the mishap with the soap was an accident. Both bottles are similar and he just grabbed it and poured it.  I wasn't angry because he was just trying to help and made a mistake.

It is wonderful your kids know how to iron.  I am not good at sewing either.  I taught my daughter how to crochet.  Though sometimes she is too busy to finish something.  I have taught my son about gardening with the help of his grandfather.  He also worked in a garden center and knows every name of bushes and trees, flowers and mulch etc.  He also plays the drums and guitar since he was five years old.  His love is music.  He also has a band.  Maybe I didn't teach them all I should have but they are all well rounded and generally great kids.

I am glad that yours do things for themselves and help their wives.  That is a great help to them.  You taught them things to help out.  Wonderful.

Peace
Mary

Good morning Sunshine!

Sounds like a good weet to work back into the regular pace at work. It's always so hard to go on vacation and then come back to what's been waiting for you in your absence. Makes you want to just go again!

Day off today. I have to go to the doctor about my elbow. Not my right one that gets tired if I play too much on my computer game (the mouse gets me), but my left one. It hurts to pick anything up, even my cellphone yesterday. I'll see my PCP who will only try to prescribe NSAIDS, then I'll argue, then he'll give me a referral to the ortho doc so I can get a steroid shot in it. I'm guessing it's going to be a long couple of weeks while I work through all of the red tape.

Okay, that's all there is to report, the rest is just too boring. Like what I've told you is sooooooooo exciting!  LOL LOL

 p.s.  Janet, you're my hero

Hi Red!

Missed ya! Glad your trip was fun ... I can imagine Thelma and Louise on a cruise trip ... I'm sure you guys tore the place up.

I've been online for a half hour now doing financial stuff. Got my severance lump sum payment today ... can I say they sure took a lot out in taxes? Geez! After that, I paid the electric, heat, cable ... so we're all caught up on that ... moved most of the money to savings so I won't be tempted to squander it on junk.

I'm going out to lunch with another laid-off coworker; we were supposed to go out yesterday but he bailed out on me. So it's today instead. That's OK, today's a better day ... yesterday we had snow showers on and off and some freezing rain junk. Today, it's sunny, a rarity in West Michigan.

My cats' bloodwork came back and for senior cats, they are extremely healthy. Nettie has the start of some kidney disease that we have to watch (and that may be from her infected tooth, too); Scooter has the start of some thyroid disease that we have to watch. But ...he's 16 and she's 13 ... so that's not so bad.

I'm severely bored sitting at home all the time. I feel like I did when I was on sick leave for my knee surgery ... nothing to do, nowhere to go. At least now, I can go out ... just don't have anywhere to go. Tomorrow, I meet with the outplacement person to go over my resume (boy, did they botch that up ... left out five years of my career and misspelled a bunch of stuff ... doesn't anyone proof anything?) ... plus, they're going to videotape interviews, so I have to dress as for an interview. My only problem is no dress shoes ... I'll have to fake that.

Well, I've been at the computer long enough. I need more coffee. Have a good day.
