Good morning Janet and everyone.....

Janet ...glad you had a great time on your trip...welcome back!!

My cleaning lady is here right now. What a great lady she is...so funny!! I will miss her as she is moving and won't be coming here anymore. I think I found someone else I like but it just won't be the same!

I went out with friends last night and had a great time. Now today I am dragging.....not enough sleep!

I guess I better get to work...three hours today then off until Monday....love it!! I rarely ever work on Fridays and I am so lucky to be able to do that. I am spoiled with my three day weekends!!!!

Prayers to those in need.....there seems to be quite a few needing them right now.

Love and hugs to all.....connie d

Just another day at work today.  Feeling pretty shaky again this morning.  Drank a chocolate protein drink and now drinking water.  I hate this feeling.  It usually resolves by 9:00.  Day 9 of liquids and I'm in a stall (LOL) at 12 pounds.  The scale didn't move the 3rd day either, so I'm not too stressed about it.

I had a little trouble sleeping last night.  Things about surgery kept me awake.  UGH  I told myself that I will not let that happen, but it slipped in when I wasn't looking.

My DH and I will be car shopping on Saturday.  That will be a good distraction.  We drove our '99 van to Des Moines Sunday.  It just has some issues.  I wanted to keep it and just fix it.  $700.  And it's only worth $1200, so we decided we'll have to buy.

We're looking at  a Jeep Liberty.  It's what I want.  He wants to look at the Chrysler 300s, but as much as I love those cars, I'm used to sitting up higher in a vehicle, so when I'm in a car I feel like I'm sitting in a hole.  I hate cars!

Who knows what we will come home with (if anything).  0% interest right now so I can keep my money in the bank to earn interest and make monthly payments (another UGH) on the car.

Those people remind me of slinkys. Not good for much but it would would bring a smile to my face if someone pushed them down the stairs.

Hi Wanda,
Worrying about the surgery is normal so don't be hard on yourself when you have trouble sleeping.  do you meditate?  When that happens, you could try to refocus your thoughts to help you relax.  I don't know how spiritual you are but praying helped me.  And so did one of those sayings from 12 step programs-- "Let go and let God."  It's funny how these sayings can help in all sorts of situations.

Best of luck with car shopping!  Isn't February supposed to be a good month for getting deals on cars?

I know what you mean about sitting in a hole when you ride in a car.  That's how I feel.  I've had a Toyota Sienna van since 2001 and I don't think I could stand to drive anything smaller now, LOL.  I thought things would feel differently when I lost so much weight but nope!

Thanks Irish.  I'm going to have to increase my prayer time.  The mantra "Let go and let God." is a good one.  I'll try that.

I don't know if Feb. is a good car buying month or not, but most of the dealers have 0% interest.  With a winter like this has been, I'm guessing there haven't been many buyers, so maybe they will be desperate for a sale.  LOL

My husband thought that I would feel better about riding in a car after I lose weight, but I explained that yes, it's easier getting in and out of a higher profile vehicle, but once I'm inside the vehicle, I feel like I'm sitting in a hole.  I think it will be worse when I lose my built in cushion. LOL

I'll have to have my son check that out.  He used to work for a Dodge/Jeep/Chrysler dealership as a mechanic, so he will probably know.  Thanks for the tip.

Mary so wants a Chrysler 300.  She drools every time we pass one.  And Lord help the person getting out of their 300 while we are in the same parking lot.  She has to comment on how nice the car is and how much she wants one.  Like the saying goes, put a pound of want in one hand and a pound of poop in the other and what do you have?

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

Mary is a woman of taste!  I really do love the looks of the car, but just don't want to be sitting in a hole.  Maybe once I test drive one......

Good morning, Janet & everyone who follows,

One thing I am SO grateful for with this surgery is that too much candy makes me sick.  ;-)  I can eat a piece or two but no more or I pay for it.  I'm grateful for that because there are very stressful days when I want to wallow in old food-medicating behaviors and right now I can't.  So I'm forced to deal with issues I used to self-medicate over.  This is healthier!

I'm just goofing off today.  I cherish goof-off days, LOL.

Have a good one, everyone!
Cassie

I was surprised no one had posted either, so I visited the other three forums I look at.  I can spend all day on here visiting all my sites.
This morning I've been busy.  Got my Thai Pork in the crockpot for dinner.  Got the apples partially peeled, cored and sliced and into the dehydrator.  Did the dishes.  Walked out to the mail box to mail a letter.  Made the bed and got dressed.  The garage door opener repair men were here at 8:00 and have fixed it and are gone now.  Next, I head out to the post office to mail a package.  I'm just full of energy today.  I hope it keeps up.  Protein chai tea for breakfast, yum.
I've got the Today show on now and they're rerunning Shawn White's snowboarding runs.  It's amazing how high over the pipe he gets.  I miss being able to snow ski, but the knee just won't let me do it anymore.
Well, off to doctor up some store bought hummus, needs more garlic and olive oil.  Then I'll make some guacamole.  Hmmmmm, hummus, guacamole, and Thai Pork.  Sounds like we're having International today!
Hope everyone has a safe day.
Jan
