58 BMI with no significant health issues......
Best of luck to you. Without co-morbidities you must have a BMI over 40. luckily (?) when I started out I was just below 40, but did have co-morbidities. I would rather have been over 40 with no co-morbidities. Be happy you have none. I would certainly hope your insurance would approve you at your BMI of 58.

Thanks! I feel so much more better after reading all the responses. You guys really are a great cheering squad, altho i think i kinda posted in the wrong forum..i think i'll stick around...lol...is this a BMI over 50 or a Age over 50??
Doesn't matter..i like it here and ya'll are gonna have to take me! LOL

You'll be fine. I don't have any of those things either. I have arthritis in my knees and acid reflux. My BMI is 54 (but I think it's now 53!)
With a high BMI I don't have any doubt that you will be approved. It's a slow process, though so be patient. I've been working on this since last June, but my surgery is Tuesday.
Good luck to you.

If you're following the diet, you can't Not lose weight. They want to see that you're committed. You're probably like a lot of us on here, we could lose the weight, but put it all back on, and then some. You have to let your doctor know that you have been this route before, you can lose, but not keep it off. Good luck!
