What's new Saturday from beautiful downtown Silsbee, Texas?

It's Saturday morning and I'm up and ready to get out and explore again. Had a great day yesterday. Went to Port Arthur, visited the Babe Didrikson Memorial (she grew up in Beaumont), lunch and a bit of shopping, a walk in the morning around the neighborhood, all around Beaumont where Ted works at Lamar University. Lunch at a McAlisters, great inexpensive lunch 1/2 chef salad and 1/2 sandwich for $6.99! Can't beat that. Also went to Lake Charles, LA mainly to say that Mike had been to LA!

Small world moments.  Sat in the back seat with Peggy, Ted's wife, the past two days. Grew up with Ted so know his "world." He and Peggy are a second marriage and she's a few years younger and grew up in Pasco, the town across the Columbia River from Kennewick where we live. Anyway while chatting I found out that her father worked with my brothers for many years at Safeway stores and. . . . I mentioned a best friend who shared my first and middle names. . . Her reply: "I knew a Linda *****." yup, the same one. . . They went to the same church!

Today Peggy and I are antiqueing and thrift shopping. Tomorrow we head for San Antonio. It's going way fast. Mike is doing great so far. I think it's good for him. Maybe he'll be willing to do it again.

Met a young man here in the neighborhood,age 41, 6 ft, 360 lbs having RNY in June with Dr. Garth Davis! It was fun to talk and share with him!

By the way, one more piece of info. . . Grandbaby #3 appears in the ultrasound to be a little sister for Hannah and Clara! Weighs about 1 lb now and is due about the 4th of July but probably a bit earlier.

Sounds like you are having a great time on your trip...I am so glad to hear that you are having so much fun!!

As for me....nothing much new here. I went out with friends last night and that was fun. Danced the night away!!

I have no idea what I am going to do today other then exactly what I want to do!!  Selfish huh?

Sounds like you're having a blast.  I hope you made a pass by the Tobasco plant.  I grew up down in New Orleans and spent the early part of my adulthood in the Houston, Baytown area.  Small world.  My mom worked at Craig's in Beaumont for several years.

Hurry back.  Nothing new here except I have been really tired this week.  I don't know why.

Two weeks ago I had my blood work done and everything came back good.  All I want to do is stay in bed.  I am really not like that.

Because of the weather I got behind in delivering my avon books.  I have three campaigns to deliver.  It sometimes a lot of work and I don't really make anything on it.  I spend a lot on myself..lol

The dogs are pests lately.  I think they are tired of winter too.  My one lab has been crying when he gets up,  I wonder if he has sonething wrong with his foot or leg,  I felt him all over and he doesn't cry out.  I an hoping it is not some kind of dysplasia.

Had a fight with my daughter, a stupid argument and my husband stepped in and made it worse.  He is not diplomatic and says things before he thinks how it wll affect the other person.   He has always been like that.   For instance, when I was losing weight he said to me.  "yea you're losing weight but what are going to do about all the hanging skin"  Gee, that made me feel better about my self.  I told him I was going to do nothing, unless he wanted to pay for everything.  Needless to say he shut up.

Well... I can't wait for spring.  I have enough of winter already.  They are calling for another snow storm this weekend.  I guess I will crochet and stay home.

I'm sorry you're having "husband issues" ... it's too bad he can't support your weight loss, but I have seen this with other couples and/or close friends. You have to do what makes you feel better, regardless of how it makes him feel. I am single, but my closest friend became a little jealous (and she wasn't obese, either) when I lost a lot of weight ... our relationship changed a bit. I realized she was very controlling and when I became thinner and not as needy, she resented that. Now we are still close, but the relationship has changed a bit. I have other friends I lean on more.

As for the tiredness, could you be depressed? Are you on antidepressants? I'm not trying to push drugs on you, but it's something you might want to consider. It sounds like some of what I'm hearing from you is unhappiness. Are you seeing a therapist? Would you consider it? If not, do you have someone you can talk to, a close friend? If you need someone, I'm here, all the time now, since I'm not working. Just let me know, e-mail me or message me, I'll send my phone number.

Morining Sweet One!

I'm fighting a stupid cold. I'm using Zicam and it seems to be helping it from getting too bad, but I still feel like do-do. Sure wish I didn't have to go to work, but since I haven't won the lottery, I gotta work...LOL
Big excitement with Gary yesterday. He and his partner busted a Meth lab/pot farm, found 18 weapons and arrested the husband and wife who were running it. All in the same day the Deputy Dir. of the Dept of Corrections was in the office!! Barney Fife had a busy day for sure! LOL

Karen sure sounds like you're having a fun time, and I'm super happy for you that Mike is enjoying the trip. Yes, maybe it will get him out more, and that would be nice for you.

hello Karen and everyone....what in the world are you doing in Tex. lol  i see you are visiting your brother. that is good getting down to where it is warmer huh? wish i were altho we have had 3 sunny beautiful days in a row of over 50 degrees. today is suppose to be 58 but cloudy all day and tomorrow too then wham we will be hit by another storm and cold weather ...hopefully we wont get snow too.
I have had my grandbabies and great grandbabies here for the last 3 days. i have new pictures on my profile if you want to see them...we had so much fun ....great grand babies are even better than grandbabies lol especially since i can get out and run and play ball with them and swing and stuff like that.
Cant wait till this summer ...since i am working and paying off some bills i intend to get a above ground pool and a nice deck built around it..then we can play in the water with them when they come down too. and i can use it to get some exercise ...doesnt hurt to exercise all i want in a pool....
we did get the garden tilled yesterday and it worked up really really good i expected it to become real big clots but it didnt so it was great. then we turned the chickens in on it ..you would have thought we gave them the best feed in the world they were out there scratching and pecking like crazy. hopefully they got a lot of the grass seeds out. ....
well all that is new in my world right now. have fun with your brother. 

I wish I had a brother down here. More excuses to travel! Ted is a high school  friend of ours. He and Mike have been friends since junior high. So we're having a great time reliving our youth!
