Good morning, ya'll.
It's Saturday!! A grandson spent the night last night. He had to get up and out early for 3 baseball games. It was still 29 degrees when he left. His Mom and brother and a bunch of others went to a Black Eyed Peas concert last night and didn't get home til way late. So he stayed here. We love having them. My DH and I will be leaving soon for his ballgame. We'll go to the second and third ones cause it'll be warmer.
Gave myself my 1st neupogen shot yesterday. No problem. Three more, then they will check my WBC on Wed. to see if it helped. The net gave me some ideas on foods to eat to boost my white blood count. The tech at the oncology office said he wasn't sure it would help, but it can't hurt to try.
I still have some restriction from my last fill, but it is fading fast! I need to get back to my sweet spot, but you have to sneak up on it!
Everyone have a fantabulous day!
I am probably spending most of the day watching the Olympics. We're doing so well this time it's really fun to watch.
I'm still hoping my husband finds a job soon. He has not even gotten as far as an interview in the last 3 months. He even was going to apply for a route driver for some distribution center and they wanted a college degree to drive a route. He has some college, but never graduated. After finding that out, he immediately called both our kids who are away at college and told them they better not screw up - stay in school and study!!!
That's all the news from Florida on this sunny Saturday.
Your trip sounds so interesting. I love meeting new people and visiting historical sites. I am very interested in Babe Didreckson. A guy I worked with in Aberdeen, SD, was a relative of hers (same last name). She was such a versatile athlete.
I had one call yesterday on my lift recliner and when I started telling the woman what was wrong with the motor, she said, "Hmmm, $50." I said I'd take less, I'd even give it away ... she wanted it for a veteran who needed a lift chair. I said I had gotten it for free, so I just wanted it out of the house. So they're coming over today to get it. Her husband has mechanical skills so maybe they can fix the motor (as Paulette's hubby did before I got it). And if a vet can use it, that'll be great.
I did my mock interview yesterday and it went OK ... I have a few things I need to work on (it's been so long since I've done an interview!). The outplacement agency rep was very nice, and I got two books for free from them, which look to be very interesting. There's even a chapter on older workers (I qualify!). I'll have to share them with my brother when we go on vacation.
After my meeting, I stopped at The Press and visited with my former coworkers. I had an ulterior motive; I needed to get some forms signed for the disability application by someone who knew ... everyone I know works there! So I corraled the first copy editor I saw, April, and she signed for me. Then I chatted with a bunch of people for awhile, including my boss ... who said I looked rested and asked I felt ... I said, "Oh, the same, knee hurts, back hurts, head hurts ... you know." He laughed. I told him I almost want to take a red pen and mark up the paper and send it in anonymously, but I always hated people who did that ... if you can't sign your name, that's cowardly. And anyway, they'd know it was me with the red pen.
So I'm watching the Olympics today, already doing some laundry, stripped the bed, washed the sheets, ran the dishwasher. Need to scoop the litter boxes, too. Probably keep shredding old documents, too. Need to look for some stuff to do my disability application, so hopefully by going through the docs I'll find it.
Well, have a good day.
An hour bouncing, running, and lifting Matthew is harder than an aerobic session and tons more fun. Melanie decided it was fun to take a flying leap into my arms, plant a kiss and do it all again.
Kisses
