How sails your boat today?? Mine, other than having a bit of a cold, is moving along well. I'm so pleased how well I feel not forcing myself to eat when I'm not hungry. If 1400 calories is what I'm supposed to have in order to maintain my weight, then I'll have to find some other means to get those calories in. That is, after I get some of this regain back off. I've had 2 days now of under 1000 calories, and I think I may be seeing some changes. I'll give it another couple of weeks to see what happens, then re-evaluate.

Here's my day as I see it right now. I have to work late, so I'm not sure about dinner.

latte x 2

quiche cup, 1/2 English muffin

albondigas

1/2 serving cottage cheese w/ nsa cherry pie filling

d--???? will edit later after I decide. We went to chili's and I had 2 slices of a steak quesadilla. Right at 1000 cals total for the day!

Everyone have a great day rowing this boat together!

Good Morning, Susan and all

I'm still afloat here.  As of this morning, I've lost the 2 lbs I gained on the cruise, so I'm happy.  I'd still like to lose another 5-6, but am feeling pretty good right now, and my size 12 clothes fit comfortably.  That was the goal from the beginning of this journey.

I finally went grocery shopping yesterday, for the first time in almost a month.  I couldn't believe it cost so much, but it'll last 2-3 weeks.  The fridge is full of my staples, yougurt, string cheese, cottage cheese, sliced turkey, as well as fruit.  That seems to be what I eat, along with the meals I have frozen in portions from my bulk cooking.  I've been eating some oatmeal with added protein a few times a week, and it's a nice change.  When I eat out, I get what I want, but it's usually very WLS-friendly.  I think I may have actually made that lifestyle change that I'd heard about but never understood.  Now if I didn't hate to exercise so much!  But Spring is coming, and I'll be busting butt outside, and as long as I keep hydrated, I should do fine.

Today's plan:

B:  cottage cheese and fruit
S:  oatmeal with protein
L:  grilled turkey and cheese sandwich on flatbread
S:  who knows?  Prolly cheese sticks or a bit of trail mix
D:  chili from the freezer
S:  fruit

Sounds boring, but it's working.

Everyone have a good day.

What kind of protein are you adding to your oatmeal? and when are you adding it?  before or after cooking?

I actually make 4 servings of the oatmeal at a time, on the stove.  Then I take out 1 serving, add 1/2 scoop of AnyWhey to the hot oats, mix it well, then add my sweetner and milk.  It adds about 8 g of protein.  I put the rest in the fridge, and then re-heat one serving at a time, adding the protein powder the same way.  I found if I add the protein to the whole batch at once, it gets rubbery in the fridge.  You could probably add more to each serving, but I have a problem with the texture that way.

It's not a lot of protein at a time, but with the oats, it's 13 g per 1 serving.  Every little bit helps.

Its after 1 AM, and Im headed to the bed, but just had to post my successes for this first day back on track.

I drank 60 ounces of water for the first time in about a year..
I had only protein and veggies today..even passed up dessert at the banquet!
I took all my supplements for the first time in months.
I was under 1000 calories for the day!
I can do this,,with help from this forum and all the great folks here.
