Morning Crewbies!

How's everyone doing today? I think I'm making some progress, at least I'm  feeling like I am. The Nut told me to maintain I had to eat 1400 cals a day. It's not as easy as it sounds and I have felt like all I'm doing is eating, which, considering that was my life before WLS, it really doesn't make a lot of sense, now does it? So, in the past few days since lowering my calories to 1000 per day to try and lose this 8 lbs, I find I'm feeling better, feeling full sooner, and generally happier about my eating. So, we'll see what happens over the course of the next month or so and will make adjustments accordingly.

I still have a stinking cold so I don't feel like doing/eating much, but the kids are coming over to celebrate Gary's belated birthday, so I have to put on a happy face. ..AGH.

Here's my day:

latte, protein coffee

b== whole wheat waffle w/ peanut butter

l-  leftover steak quesadilla from last night

d--vegetarian red curry w/ coucous

snacks to be decided. Protein coffee and LOTS of water through out the day.

Hope your water craft is floating along, no matter what type it may be!

Hi Susan:

So glad you are still on track with your self-imposed 1K-calorie limit.  Sorry to hear about your cold.  I wouldn't know what to take since I haven't had a sniffle since the surgery (keeping fingers crossed).   What do you take for it?  I used to take DayQuill and NightQuill pills, which worked great, but would not be able to swallow those monster pills now.

Did not post yesterday cause it got complicated.  Ate one drumstick for lunch at 1 p.m. and finally had to thow it up undigested at 6 p.m.  What is up with chicken?  Some days it's just fine, and some days it just sits in the pouch making strange noises.

Here is today's plan:

B - Cottage cheese pancake, 1 tsp PB, 1/2 banana
S - 1 oz. So. Beach Diet nut mix
L - Black bean soup, melba toast
S - broccoli and carrots (Green Giant single serving) 1/4 Egg substitute
D - Turkey meatballs, marinara sauce
S - Muscle Milk Light

Exercise:  Sweatin to the oldies III

Hope you had fun at Gary's party and that you feel better soon.  Smooth sailing to you and to all the Chewbies out there in WLS land.

Ciao y'all,

Good morning!

I can hardly do chicken breasts at all, but thighs work well for me. There's a bit more fat, but I'll take that over tossing it up later on. Maybe you didn't chew well enough? Just a thought.

I can't remember having a cold since surgery, really. I think because we take so many vitamins that we have a pretty decent immune system. Pills don't bother me now, no matter what size, so I've been taking a 12 hr decongestant during the day and Nyquil at night. Most cold remidies have a liquid form, so I'd go with that if you needed to.

Hope your day is less topsy turvy!

Hi Susan,

Last night I was on a food marathon.  I was depressed and ate myself to death.  Today, I am not hungry and don't think I can eat anything.

Maybe I will try a protein drink later.

Glad you are all doinh well.

Peace
Mary

I am on my way.  What a ride it has been.

Hi Susan:

Thanks for the feedback.  I did chew the chicken well, but it was fried chicken and I guess the crispy skin was too much for the pouch to handle.  Oh well,  live and learn, although I should have known that breaded chicken was a no-no.

Hope you are recovering from your cold.

Ohhh I see three words screaming out at me:  Fried, crispy and skin!  All of those I'd avoid at all costs.

Some lessons are harder to learn than others, aren't they?

Thanks for good wishes about the cold, but unfortunately, it's worse today. I feel like poo.

Here's my plan for the day:

Breakfast:  Coffee with protein powder

lunch:  Chicken salad

Supper:  Veggie omelet

I'm going to work on cutting out snacks in between meals as much as I can.  I will probably have a protein snack around 3 to keep my sugar from bottoming out though.  When it gets too low I get this incredible urge to eat, eat, eat, not to mention a horrendous headache.

80 oz water
less coffee

Some people might not support my WLS decision.
Those people remind me of slinkys. Not good for much but it would would bring a smile to my face if someone pushed them down the stairs.

Yesterday I piddled around and didn't eat protein with my breakfast.  Wasn't sure what to have... and of course my blood sugar dropped.  I know better....  I know better....  I know better...  then there wasn't enough food in the house to satisfy me.

Today I'm having an apple with PB even though I don't want it.... I know it keeps me level. sigh  Then I'll have oatmeal and HB egg  I should be good for the day.

Fresh veggies have been a big help to me too.  However, I guess I'll need to take a beano with them as I was flying around the house yesterday from too many the day before.  I've been keeping a plate of cut up veggies... peppers, zucchini, cukes, celery & carrots.  My downfall is the ranch dressing I dip them in....

Apple  PB

oatmeal  egg

chili w/cheese & onion

pretzels  cheese

????? not sure for dinner... protein and veggies

crackers and more cheese
