Sunday
Good Morning Nancy and Friends, Just a quick drive by from a now 61 year young gal. Next year I get money~ Yay!!!!
Two years ago flIt'rs (edit: make that FLOWERS) arrived at my door on my birthday. I was just sure my son or hubby had done the wonderful, thoughtful thing. Nope, they weren't even for me! The card was addressed to Maggie our Yorkie who delivered a litter of beautiful little puppies the day before. I even wish that I could have seen my face! The culpret: Janet W of course. What an evil little vixin, but so delightful that she's impossible to resist.
My bad. I just made myself the breakfast that my dear mom would have made for me were she here. Biscuits (not homemade, the frozen individual ones. Love em) and sausage gravy. Had one and I'm stuffed. Didn't even feel guilty as I spent 4 one hour sessions at the gym this week. Probably just undid any good that might have shown up on the scale this week. But. . .it was worth it. This born in Washington but heart in Arkansas gal just craves that every once in a while!
It's a beautiful day here. I think perhaps a drive, maybe a picnic out along the river, searching for the perfect dogwood tree at a nursery. Nothing big, but those kinds of things mean more to me than "big" things.
You all have a good one. Nancy, couldn't WE have a grand time with 3 weeks on the road? We'd stop whenever, wherever, and for however long we wanted wouldn't we?????
Karen C
I don't think I could make a three week trip. I know I could never fly for a three week trip. I need 3 suitcases for just one week. I'd need a pack mule for longer.
Or a cabana boy, hmmmm......
My weekend is over. Friday I went to one of the local casinos for the afternoon with my neighbor. I came back about even, but only through good luck. I found a new machine that could eat up my mortgage payment in no time... If I have any transfer addictions since WLS, it may be slot machines. Maybe I had that one before; I just never went too often. I'm very careful still not to go too often, and to always limit how much money I bring. It's harmless that way, but I could see it getting out of hand very easily.
Yesterday I spent the day reclaiming my house. I sorted mail, read flyers, stacked, moved, and tossed a mountain of stuff. Finished transferring the last pile of Christmas stuff to the basement, and brough a carload of reusable stuff to the Salvation Army. And I finished unpacking after my 2 recent trips. Almost done. Today I'll finish up the last little pile.
Maybe Thelma is a good influence on me? Nah, prolly not!
This afternoon is work. I think I'll cook something different before I leave, for a few meals this week. I have stuff thawed, but havn't been in the cooking mood.
Just the eating mood. Unfortunately.
Everyone have a great week.
Candy
I'm going to be brief. He is doing well now, and was so impatient to get out yesterday, he is glad he pushed. He slept better at home, and has everything he wants nearby here. He is doing great. The early days of the RNY aren't that far away for me, so I can help him get through these first weeks.
Thanks to everyone for your wishes and prayers. This is such a wonderful group of people!

I'm down 120 pounds - thanks to RNY! Working on the next 25. Then I'll tackle more...
Enjoy your trip. Sounds like it will be a blast. And warm weather will be wonderful. It's supposed to get up to 50 this week. Wow, spring, really?
I am enjoying using my new laptop. So much faster than my old desktop. Can't wait to take it on the road. Still waiting for the rest of the software to get here so I can transfer files from the old computer, then I'll try to sell the old computer.
I spent the day yesterday watching baseball, which is what I plan to do today. The White Sox crushed the Cubs 15-3 ... Carlos Quentin hit two homers. Wow, what a great game. Another Sox-Cubs game today, too. I'm in heaven, even if they're just exhibition games and meaningless. Still gets me in the mood for the real thing.
I want to get my Easter stuff up today, which means I'll need to actually get off my butt and do some cleaning of the dining room table. I've got a lot of crap on there ... need to clean it off and put stuff away, shred some stuff. I've been extremely lazy lately. Hard for me to be productive when there's nothing to be productive for.
I did finally call the senior center swim pool ... it's $45 for 30 sessions, which isn't bad. So I'm going to go this week. My shrink has been nagging me about it, and she's right. It'll be good for me. The woman at the pool said I'm not the right age (too young at 55?) but my arthritis will get me in ... all they have to do is see the scar down my knee and see me walk to know I'm arthritic.
Well, not much else going on. Have a nice day.
