I need to focus on my legs for the next couple of weeks..... do you know any good leg exercises other than squats and lunges?? I'm open to all ideas.
Hi Moosie:
We're practically neighbors. I tried Richard Simmons Boogie Down the Pounds video for the first time this morning at 5 a.m. It's almost an hour long and gave me a nice workout, plus the disco music really lifted my spirits.
This afternoon I'm going to do a Pilates workout video with resistance bands. It also takes one hour.
Hope to see some results on the scale, since I have not lost any weight in the past two weeks, and the previous month only lost 2.6 lbs. Clothes are fitting more loosely, however.
Had an issue with the turkey neck, but no longer. Had planned to do a lot of surgery in the summer or by year's end, but I'm now considering other options, such as acceptance of myself as I am. Let's see how it shakes out (No pun intended).
Ciao y'all,
Maria

Hi Neighbor! Gotta admit I'm not sure where Pembroke Pines is........if it's not too far maybe we can get together one day to meet in person. A few of us meet at a central location.....
Pilate's is great. I got a couple of good videos off the internet....I should dig them out again.
Not losing on the scale could mean you are losing inches so stick with it.

Im here posting on the exercise thread for the first time, trying to find some accountability I think,,to keep me motivated.
Today I took my first walk through the neighborhood of the season. It was a beautiful day and the fat Schnauzer and I got a good brisk walk in. She is passed out under the desk as I write, in total shock I am sure, as are my thighs!! Im really out of shape. Last summer I was walking 2 miles sometimes twice a day,,now I walked one and am whipped! But its a start and I will build up. I have the Leslie Sansone Walking dvds for when the weather is bad, so Im gonna try and do one or the other every day.
I bought the Biggest Loser 30 day Shred dvd too,,and its pretty easy really. I feel like I have really done something after I do it, but I havent done it in a few weeks, Thats on my agenda too.
So,,here we are, day one,,and Im pumped!! Hope I dont deflate by tomorrow!!
Blessings
Betsy

Hi!
Yes today was beautiful 'round here tool
Hey I have a fat Schnauzer too!!! Buddy and I have been walking together and I think he is really enjoying it. He is in real need of a haircut (goes tomorrow) so the poor boy got overheated this afternoon as we did our walk. He came home, ran to the water bowl and then laid down on the cold tile floor.
Congrats on getting past the hardest part....the first day. The first step is always the hardest but now that you've done it you can do tomorrow easier..... each day feels better than the last.
Thanks for sharing

Stopped on my way home from 5 hours of herding first graders. Will NOT forget to take in my headphones again. The 30 min on the treadmill seemed like 2 hours!! The eliptical program always goes faster for some reason. At any rate, worked up a good sweat and spent 60 minutes before sweating my way out of the gym.

Hi Karen,
Five hrs with first graders...man that must be exhausting!
I hear you about the headphones...I hate being on the treadmill with no music or tv.
Sounds like you burned a lot of cals today!!

Hi Moosie:
I herd 2, 3, 4 and 5 graders all day long, been doing it for 8 years. Before that, I taught midddle and high school. It can be exhausting but extremely rewarding. Many of my former students have found me on Facebook, and it's wonderful to see what great adults they have become.
Pembroke Pines is between Miami and Ft Lauderdale. It would be great to meet with your group.
See 'ya,
Maria
