Its 0248am in the Sunshine State!!!! and it is Sunday

Morning OFF! My, my, my...how 8 hours of sleep can make one feel chipper ;-) Slept in til 8:30 (really 'late' for me), made breakfast (another 'out of routine' for me)for DH and myself and here I am, checking email, wishing you all a beautiful Sunday afternoon and then off to FB to keep my farm in shape. LOL
Yesterday took a wonderful scooter ride around the delta, was a *****illy but wanted to get my ridin' legs under me as I eventually will be riding the scooter to work most mornings, once the temps stay in the upper 60's in the morning. 60mpg compared to 30mpg is alot easier on the pocket book especially with gas prices on the upswing. Today is a lazy laid back day, got a strong breeze outside which means temps are going to drop back into the low 60's and we've got whispy clouds overhead; no rain just cooler temps for the day. Plan on getting DH to get off the computer and into a good game of Mexican Train (dominos for those wondering). His son and DIL got him hooked (he usually isn't a game player) so we have learned several versions on our own from the 'owner's manual. LOL
Hope all have a great day, in spite of the challenges I've read; my heart and prayers go out to you.

First day of spring yesterday. And, it was WINDY and snowing on my way to work. In Texas.
Hope everyone is fine. Missed you all.
Plans for today. Sleep until one or so (will be going to bed about 7). Mary and I are going to The Italian Food Market for lunch and then go check out Aldi's. They just opened up here in Dallas area. Prices seem to be decent.
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
I've been lurking mostly and not doing a lot of posting. The weather has been beautiful and I've been getting some much needed outside clean up done. Today, I'm working for several hours and then going outside. I'm planning to weed and freshen up the two flower beds in the front yard.
I bought two biodegradeable pots filled with bulbs yesterday at Walmart filled with hyacinth, daffodils and tulips. I'm going to put them in the ground today and hope they bloom as pretty as the picture looks. I'm so happy to be feeling so great this year....it's great having so much energy, and being able to bend over and move around freely -- woo hoo - I'm looking forward to growing some beautiful flowers this year.
Have a wonderful Sunday everyone!
It was a beautiful day yesterday here in NY. Today ..ah..not so great. But at least its not snowing.
Today , I'm finishing up my cleaning and laundry...making a meatloaf and will be going to a school play with my granddaughter. Her school (now she is only 6)..is presenting The Sound of Music and she insisted that I go with her. She is so cute and loves to watch movies etc. with music in them.
This week will be a busy one. School has been really busy and we're trying to finish up some special education meetings before Spring Break. We have sort of been notified that the school may be cutting loose 4 teachers to save money. THANK GOD as far as I know I'm not one of them. It does benefit me to be in a "specialized field" and I'm the only person in the district who does my job. So I will breathe a sigh of relief.
Hope all is well with everyone on OFF...have a great week.

I'm having my cuppa coffee and visiting with all of you, while my birthday grandchild sleeps, her brother is playing with his "step brother" and the parents are still in bed. . .
We had a lovely day yesterday, drove up to St. Augustine and spent the afternoon walking around the quaint little town that it is, had a nice lunch and even some ice cream (of course I had the no sugar added). Visited the first School House in North America, the Fort there and it was just a beautiful drive. . . I do love Florida this time of year, it made me do my thing late last night, which is look up real estate in the areas that I visit to see what it would cost to live there, real estate in this part of the world is a bargin these days, not that I can afford any, but it's nice to dream. . .
Well today, we will just have to see what Miss Samantha wants to do, it's her special day and what she wants is what we shall do, I know going to best buy is a part of it, as she wants some music cds, then my daughters, I and the rest of the folks will be here to have a little birthday party for her.
Well, I guess that's about all I got, I hope you all have a delightful day where you are, and may those of you who are facing challenging issues, find peace and strength to get through what you are going through.
Hugs, Laureen

Good mornin' ya'll.
I haven't been on here much this week. It has been very busy.
Wed was SUPPOSED to be my next to the last chemo. NOPE. My WBC count was down to 0.5. It should be between 4 and 11. So they sent me home to take a neupogen shot. Had to go back Thursday and my count was up to 13.2. But still no chemo till NEXT Wed. Then after that one I will go home and take a neupogen shot so I will be able to get my LAST chemo on March 31st. I hope!
My DH and I are trying to plan a trip to NE and KS for his 50th reunion in May. I will do all the driving, of course. We will leave in plenty of time, so if I have to rest I can. But I really think by then I will be good as new. I am used to driving 12 hours at a time when we travel, but may have to cut back a little this time. Of course, this time I won't be draggin' a travel trailer or 5th wheel as I have done in the past! And of course, the price of gas is headed UP. In July I will be going to my 45th reunion in NY. My DH isn't sure if he wants to go or not. If he goes, I'll drive. If I am going alone, I will fly and rent a car.
We got a 'save the date' card in the mail Friday for our grandson's wedding. Never heard of one of those cards. We just sent out invitations. I told our son we got an STD from our grandson. Ha Ha!! The wedding is in August. It will be a very busy summer!
As ya'll know my Mom passed away in June. In January her sister passed away with the same small cell lung cancer. Well, this week their brother passed away. He'd had a stroke awhile back but there was brain damage by the time they found him. He never really recovered. One of there other brothers passed away a few years ago from a heart attack. So there are only 2 siblings left. Lots of phone calls, etc. A very busy week.
Yesterday was the first day it really felt like Spring here. Imagine that, on the first day of Spring. I did a little clean up in the yard. As much as I could before getting worn out. Then I sat in my lawn chair with a good book for a couple of hours! Today I'm gonna attempt to wash the car. And then sit in my lawn chair and read some more. It's amazing how tired I get even though I haven't had chemo in 10 days. I'll be so glad to be done with this!
Everyone have a fantabulous day!
