Good Morning OFF! It's Monday, rise and shine. . .

What am I talking about? I'm up but certainly not shining. Slept my usual 3 hours. Now I'm wide awake.

Had a nice weekend with our son and his girlfriend home. I love seeing my kids. Nathan is finishing up all of the paperwork for his National Board Teaching Credentials. He'll take a test in mid May and find out in DECEMBER whether he passed or not. Such a long time to wait!

I start 2 weeks of jury duty today. Should be interesting as I've never served. Post away. I'm going to try to get a bit more sleep.

GOOD MORNING KAREN! I guess it's you and me kid! I had a touch of caffeine last night and I am reaping the rewards. I wonder why the test takes so long to process? That seems crazy to me.
Nothing much going on here. I bought a new steamer and I've been steaming all over the house. I had the doors and windows open today to let the 75 degree weather in...
AND, datadaaaaa.... this is my last week of working at the extra school! My colleague comes back next Monday after 6 months of maternity leave. I'll work with her next Monday to get her back up to speed- plus she'll need some TLC- going back to work and leaving your baby with a sitter is no picnic. I'm thinking daffodils and Starbucks, as well as a shoulder to cry on and a few upbeat stories...
I took Sookie to the dog park at dusk...she frolicked with 5 other dogs including a husky puppy that she's been with before. She's kind of rough with the puppy- it's almost as old as her but not quite as big and muscular. I have to stay with them and settle her down when she gets too rambunctious. They have such fun though. It's great to watch dogs play.
I'm going back to bed now- it's only 2 AM here now, so I need to try to get a few hours of sleep.

We have a lab-mix and a greyhound.  They get along so well.  But so jealous of each other.  When you pet one the other is right there trying to get some loving too.  Pride loves to run in the yard.  I mean run huge laps around the yard.  But he won't do it if Mack is out there because he is afraid I will start petting Mack.  So, I play with both of them every morning when I get home and again just before I leave for work.  But after playing with both of them, I walk towards the sunroom.  Mack always runs in first.  I close the door, leaving Pride and I alone in the back yard.  He knows that is his signal to start running.  And off he goes.  It is so much fun watching a graceful greyhound run.  The only problem is, with all the rain and snow we have had this winter, he has made ruts in the ground where he makes his turns.

Sookie can't decide what she loves more at the dog park- playing with dogs or getting lots of attention from men. Men and dogs certainly go together. Of course they'll pet her but when it comes to picking up her poop- I'm nominated... I'd love to see her try to keep up with a greyhound!  She'd cheat and do a smaller circle I'd bet.  I understand about dog jealousy. Our dog is 15 and she would rather not have Sookie around. She does not like to share us.

George,

I remember when I had two dogs, the female was always sooo jealous, Dillinger was a good boy, he always gave her preference, but no matter what attention she got, it was never enough, when I got divorced I had no issue with her going with my ex, she was always his dog anyway. . .  I would love for Roxie to have a companion animal, but, I can't see my way to feed and care for another dog financially, maybe one day soon, but for now Foxie Roxie will just have to have "play dates" either at the dog park or hopefully I'll find a neighbor who has a friendly dog she can play with, she has sooo much energy, I am missing her, but enjoying my visit with the kids in Florida. . .

Take care, Laureen

Julia, It's almost 2:30 and I'm still wide eyed. I had a couple of cups of decaf late in the day. I know decaf tea still gets me so perhaps that's part of the problem. I just never get into a deep sleep. I so envy the sleep of a small child. Hannah and Clara pass out about 7pm and sleep most nights soundly til 7am.  Their diapers weigh about 5 lbs. guess mine would too if I slept that long. . . TMI. . . I'm finally yawning. Guess I've bored myself into sleepiness. I'll try again as I don't want to fall asleep during jury selection. That would really impress them wouldn't it?

If you fall asleep in court- oh well... I wonder if that happens a lot.

Things are finally back to normal for me.  Normal.  Spent the night surfing the net, playing games and working on my fantasy baseball draft.  Big draft (auction) for me next Saturday.  Not that many people here know what I am talking about.  It's tougher than a regular draft.  In this one you get $260 play money and you have to buy 23 players for your team.  Once a year we get together and spend six hours in a banquet room at a restaurant and bid away.

Eddie's baseball season is supposed to start Tuesday night.  Hope it warms up just a little bit and the ground dries out from the SNOW we had Saturday night.  On my way home from work at 6:30AM, I must have passed easily 7 accidents and another 15 cars stranded on the side of the road or on the median.  There were so many police out that they had to start using fire engines to block roads instead of police cars.

Karen - 2 weeks of jury duty?  Yuck.  Are you just in a jury pool for 2 weeks waiting for a case?  Or do you already have a case?  Sorry, I have been out of action here for almost a week, so I may not be up to snuff.

Hope everyone has a good day.

George, Jury duty is new experience for me. I have two weeks of responsibility. This morning at 8am I report in. Don't really know what will happen. Hopefully by the end of the day I will either have been selected or sent home and told when to report again. Then I'll be able to plan  the rest of my week. As long as I'm at it I hope that I at least get selected once. I'd like to see the process in real life rather than on tv!

Hi Karen,

Thanks for getting us up and raring to go.  Well, not raring.

I have had three cups of coffe already.

I love dogs.  Have four of them.  Talk about being muddy right now.  They love to play ball and we have to go out with them on and off during the day.  Too much energy cooped up in the house.

I had to laugh about the diapers Karen, I remember those days.  YUCK.

Good luck on the Jury duty. 2 Weeks is a long time for that.

Goerge, Have fun with your baseball.

Today going to catch up on housework.  My daughter did all the laundry yesterday.  Which is a big deal since I always have so much.  I usually do loads everyday to keep up.

My nephew has his pretrial today.  I am not sure what they do at the pretrial.  Anyone know?

Well everyone have a blessed day.

Knowing some of you might be against it,  I am glad health care passed.

Ta ta for now!

Peace

Mary

I am on my way.  What a ride it has been.
