Hi Mary,

I loved Edgar Sawtell. After I read it, dog chewed the cover up. :-(

Too funny, Cheryl!  I'll have to keep it away from Jack, since it's a borrowed copy.   :-)

I enjoyed Molokai too!  I'll have to put Edgar Sawtelle on my want-to-read list.  I've heard several people say they like it.

I finished the trilogy about Henry II and Eleanor of Aquitane by Sharon Kay Penman; "When Christ and His Saints Slept" started with King Stephen and Empress Maude, and the civil war they started over who would rule England after Henry I died (Maude was Henry II's mother); "Time and Chance" was about Henry II coming to the throne and his quarrel with Thomas a Becket; the third book, "Devil's Brood," I actually first, that dealt with Henry's sons and the rebellion in which Eleanor is imprisoned.

Then I read "Innocent Traitor" by Allison Weir, about Lady Jane Grey, who was queen for seven days; Weir is a renowned historian and this was her first historic novel. It was very good and I've since bought another of her novels called "The Lady Elizabeth" about Elizabeth I's early days, and a nonfiction book about Eleanor of Aquitaine (I'm just fascinated by her).

I'm now reading a book about Mary Magdalen (that's the title too) by Susan Haskins ... this is nonfiction and sometimes very heavy reading but very interesting. Sometimes I like to read some nonfiction in between the fiction to get some education.

Very non=productive month for me reading wise.  Been reading U is for Undercover for a while now.  Did mor baseball stuff this month than anything.

Thinking about my decision to buy the Nook.  Not sure if I want to pay $14.99 per book.  I was okay with $9.99.  Don't know if they will be effected by the new agreement with the publishers.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
