Dear Friend Julia,
Please know that I am holding you close today and sharing your tears for your sweet doggie, Darla. Our fur babies are just like our kids, and we miss them so much when they are gone. Remember the good times now and know we are all here sharing your sorrow. ((((hug)))

I'm so sorry, Julia, I know just how you feel about your dog. I've gone through this with two cats. Anyone who says "they're just animals" doesn't understand. They're not just animals; they're part of our families, part of our hearts. Darla was there for you and never judged you. She loved you unconditionally. She will live in your heart forever. Treasure her life and the love she gave you.

Julia~
Darla will live on forever in your heart.  In time you'll think of her and a smile will spread across your face thinking of some comical time with her.  A lot of us know the sadness of losing one of our furbabies and it certainly isn't easy, but we knew when we signed on to be a 'parent' that they wouldn't be with us for nearly long enough.  We give them a life that is wonderful and they give it back to us.  May your heart heal quickly from your loss.
Hugs to you.
Jan

Aloha Julia......I so feel for you right now. Your dear Darla
had a full and happy life it sounds like, and I have a feeling that she is now frolicking with lots of other beloved dogs and cats (maybe they all get along there.)

Your sad story brought back the memory of my dear dog, Lady, who my father got for me when I was 4. I never knew a time when she wasn't by my side. I was in high school when my father picked me up one day and said that Lady was gone.......he had to have her put to sleep ... she couldn't see, or hear and was in pain. I felt like life had ended in a way....and for that reason I have never had another dog....only cats. Cats for some reason are more independent and don't attach themselves so strongly as dogs do.

The others have said wonderful, loving things to you, and I can only add my hug of care and hopes for eventual happy laughter with your daughter as you remember funny things that happened with Darla.

Sending you much aloha,

Maui Karen

So sorry you are going through that.  She had a rich, wonderful, long dog life - thanks to the love of all of you.  I'm so sorry it ended last night.  She left a mark on all of you.  We love our dogs.

Julia,
I do know how you feel.  When our son was six we got him a "mistake" from a kennel.  Apparently they let two dogs get together they weren't supposed to and were responsible for giving away the puppies.  Patches was a cute little wire-haired terrier/black lab mix.  When my son was 19 we had to have him put down.  My son insisted on taking Patches himself.  My son is 34 and still has Patches' collar and tags wrapped around the stick shift of his truck.  We have many pictures of the two of them together and even a report my son wrote about Patches for school when he was 8.  You might want to save something of Darla's for your daughter to have.
Pets are great.  Unfortunately, my son has a wife and some of his kids who are allergic.  So they don't have any pets now.  Too bad.  They really touch your heart.
Bev

Julia,
I'm so sorry to hear of your beloved Darla.  I know you are hurting, big hugs for you and your daughter.  We have all felt your pain at some point.  We become so attached to our pets, they are part of our family.  I just hate that you had to go thru this.  Sending love your way, my friend.
