Friday What's New With Yooze?
I found playing the piano and using the pedal is good exercise for my recovering foot! Makes me raise the toes up and down to use the pedal. I don't play enough -- my bad.....I played a lot more when I was teaching piano, had to keep up with the students, you know! Just downloaded a free tune by Scott Joplin from "musicnotes.com".....tried to play it, but think I have to hear it first -- ragtime is a bit difficult if you don't know how the tune goes.

Done! Your Ticker:
I'm so glad you are making progress with your foot. I hope you continue to heal and get back to normal soon.
I LOVE the piano, but feel I'm not learning quickly enough - lol - but the 'ole mind doesn't work as good as it used to. Of course, my piano teacher said I'm doing as well as I should be....so that's encouraging.
I really want to learn how to play The Climb by Miley Cyrus -- I downloaded the version from Truepianotranscriptions.com. Maybe by next year I'll be there. I'm learning "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" in the Easy Piano book by Phillip Keveren. It's such a beautiful song.
Try going to Youtube.com and searching for your free tune there. You may be surprised at what you find and maybe that will help refresh you. Let me know how it goes.
Blessings,
Debbie

I've been sleeping in every day of my vacation... it's a wonderful luxury, but it's about over. I did not get much done this vacation but I needed to absorb my loss and take care of myself so the vacation was helpful for that.
Today my daughter and I are taking Sookie (the Grand dog puppy) to my hometown to visit my brother and sister-in-law. It's an hour drive- we'll stay about 2 hours and then head home.

For me it's the same old story......still recuperating from surgery 2 weeks ago. It was the most cutting I've ever had one time.
Overall I've been feeling remarkably well, well until the swelling got out of control this past Sunday...my calfs and feet got so big they didn't look human anymore. Matthew picked up Compression Hose for me on Weds and today I finally have human feet again and feel much better again.
When they removed all the steri-strips and tape from me on Monday the nurse mentioned I have a lot of redness around the incision. She thinks I've developed a sensitivity to the stuff. I've never had this problem before but it seems because I've had SO MUCH on me in the last few months that I've now developed this sensitivity....not sure if it's the same as an "allergic" reaction. ANYHOW.... I just did my daily application of polysporin cream and let me tell you, the skin is very red and somewhat itchy. I'm not talking about one little area...this is all up and down my arms, around my breasts, down my belly, and down my legs.
I have one small spot on each leg that looks like the incision might pop...I'm hoping not! I may put a butterfly bandage on the area to be sure...I'll check it again tonight or tomorrow morning.
I'm SO GLAD that all my big plastic procedures are done. All I'll do is a few minor revisions/tweaks at the end of the year.
I'm really looking forward to the day I can get back on my bike....I know because of the groin stitches it's going to take a while but I'm hoping it won't be a full 3 months....I'll check with the surgeon in early May when I see him next.
So what will I do with myself once I have no procedures on the calendar.......hmmm......I'm already checking out cruises and European tours!! WAHOO....
Have a great rest of the day!

I'm down 120 pounds - thanks to RNY! Working on the next 25. Then I'll tackle more...
Ive had a long day.
Last night was a complete loss...I was so tired and sleepy that I went to bed ay 9:30pm and slept til midnight..then there I was...wide awake! After several hoursa of tossing and turning, I got up, made myself a ht chocolate protein drink and took some rylenol because my legs were so thribby..I just coyldt get nack to sleep. Even tho my body craved sleep, I coyldnt get my restless legs to settle down...Id never had that before!
After several hours of reading, I went back to bed only to lie there another hour wide awake and unable to keep my legs still...tossing and turning. Yhen back up again and as I left the room, I heard a mumble from under JBs pillow "Where are you going?" My response was a sarcastic "Im heading out at 4 am to wash and wax both cars!" And as I shut the bedroom door, I heard "don't forget to vacuum the insides too"...grr....By then I was so grumpy that a junk yard dog would seem like Mother Theresa compared to me!
Tried again at 7 am and this time, FINALLY fell asleep but I had left JB a note on his coffee maker to wake me up at 10 am which he did. I laid there, my body achy and my head swimming and pondered..swimming or sleeping?.....sleeping or swimming?"
Finally I dragged my reluctant carcass out of bed, hurried to shower and get into my bathing suit, and got ready to go swimming. I went to have a small bowl of Mini Wheats and poured them into the bowl and found that we were out of 1%milk! JB suggested that I use the chocolate milk as I grumbled about who used up all the blank blank milk??? which started a discussion "who, in their right mind, would put chocolate milk on cereal??"
I was not a happy camper when I left...I drove 20 minutes on the highway to the hotel and soon was happier than a lil frog in his pond..the water was warm...86 degrees! I remained there, jogging in the water for 3 1/2 hours! Thern after 20 minutes in the hot tub, I got dressed and headed out, stopped at Wendie's for chili, stopped to get a new head harness for my C-PAP machine...$92 plus change!!! I phned home and asked Derek to get the lasagna into the oven for supper.
Then I stopped at Tim Hortons and bought Mother a blueberry muffin for her tea before bed...then headed onto the 45 minute drive to visit her and have supper with her.
I can really see Mother's memory deteriorating. I got some paperwork done for the nursing home doctor to complete(another $45.00), spoke to the Activities Director and visited Mom...finally leaving there at 6:30 and headed hme in the midst of a sudden SNOW STORM!
I was so tired when I got home, thank fully JB seemed to have taken charge of the lasagna...I offered to make a tossed salad but he said NO so I was going to argue..I sat on the couch and drank water. Dererk left at 7:30 for work (as Bouncer at a local Club) and I headed to my computer to check in then Im headed fopr an early bedtime....I hope that my legs don't bother me tonight.
Tomorrow (Sat), I can sleep in...IF I ever do get to sleep!
