Good morning.  Not much going on in my world.  Working, baseball, reading.  Since I got my Nook, I don't do much on the computer.

My coworker who had the sleeve ten days ago is out of the hospital.

That is all from here.

Hi George...Well,here I am almost a year later since you suggested I eat cheese to help increase myprotein intake.I was in a weight loss stall....well I am happy to report that I did that very thing along with  a few other helpful pointers and I am now  28 lbs lighter!!
Also, with my WLS surgeon's blessing. I underwent an Abdominoplasty a week ago(May 7)...I am nearly where I want to be and ,even though I am just over a week post op, am feeling great!!
WLS literally has saved my life!!!

George,
I'm thinking of getting the Nook or Kindle for my sister who is having eye problems.  What made you get the Nook over the Kindle?  Which do you think is better.
Thanks,
Bev

I did a lot of research on both products.  Both are good.  The one thing that swayed me was that you can loan books to someone else who has a Nook (not all books, and the ones that can be loaned can only be loaned once).

The Nook has a lot of freebies.  Every week there is a special of some kind.  This week it was a free mystery novel. Not by an author I had read before, but it was a police detective (my favorite).

The Nook can hold 1500 books, and can use a memory card to add 6000 more.

The latest update to Nook added internet and games to it.  The games are chess and soduku.  Internet requires a hotspot.

Every time you go into Barnes and Noble, bring your Nook with you, there are often specials that pop up only because you are in the store.  I have heard it can be anything from $$$ off a magazine to a free Starbucks coffee.

The Kindle has two different ones, the more expensive one gets you the internet.  Which is  now available on the Nook.

I liked the Kindle's keyboard better, but it was a small sacrifice to get the Nook's other features.

4am almost on the West Coast. I've about reached my "stay and play" limit. Have been here with the kids since May 6th. Always busy, never dull, exhausting even on a "dull" day. Yesterday drove 2 hours to Seattle to pick Mike up from his cruise. He had a great time but was glad to be home as he is more  of a homebody than an adventurer. New experiences exhaust and stress him out whereas they just totally invigorate me.

So yesterday involved downtown Seattle, waterfront driving which is always interesting (NOT) on a weekend. Streets that I needed to take to get down to the cruise terminal were blocked off for who knows what. Anyway finally got down there, picked up my passengers and made my way back out of the flustercluck and home to Chehalis.

The twins have had "something" all weekend. We thought too much sun as they were outside a lot on Thursday and Friday. Unusually warm and sunny all week here and they weren't used to it. They seemed a bit dehydrated on Friday. Then all weekend they took turns with what they call the "pookeys". Didn't seem to feel bad just "pookey" and stinkier than usual diapers. We were going to head home this am but will wait and see how they feel when they get up.

Baby Briley has reached the 4lb mark. The twins were delivered at this point 2 years ago. Erin has now reached the point where she should be able to deliver in Olympia just 30 minutes away as opposed to Seattle almost 2 hours, That will make it much better for all concerned as far as visiting, taking the girls to see their little sister, getting all of the stuff taken care of here at home.

It's still early. I need to try to get some more sleep. Happy Monday everyone,

Karen C

Hi Karen & everyone on OFF,
urg, it's Monday morning!  Hope everyone's getting off to a great start this week.  It's going to be another busy one here.  In a few mins we're leaving to meet with the housing counselor at the consumer credit company we were referred to.  Later today, I'm taking the youngest to Walmart so she can buy herself a bathing suit.  Her senior class travels to Washington DC next weekend and they're having a pool party at the hotel one night.  We didn't get to go on cool overnight trips when I was a senior!  Got to run!  CAssie

Cassie, I just finished reading The Story of Edgar Sawtelle.  It was a great book, but I was disappointed with the ending.....was hoping for something happier, I guess.  I would still recommend it.

Morning Karen and my OFFer friends,

Not  a whole lot going on here, which is a very good thing!  I have felt pulled from pillar to post for the last couple of weeks and it's about time I had some "me" time. Gary had a portrait shoot here at the house yesterday afternoon so the house got a good cleaning  All I have to do today is a small load of laundry. Yipeeeee

I have my meeting and MedGem test tomorrow at 8:00 a.m.  Can't wait to see where my resting metobolic rate is now, and what I might need to adjust. I'll be letting you all know.

Okay, off to do the what are you eating thread.

See you all later!

Susan
