Good Monday Morning! What's Gnu Wit You?

Here's my new "Who woulda thunk it?"  I am looking into car rentals. The rate from an airport was almost $400.00 for a compact car for a week. By renting the same car, same rental company, but from a location NOT at the airport (2 miles away) I can get it for $200.00. . . Wonder how much I've wasted through the years by going with convenience? Not that I rent very often. Just about every 2 or 3 years when I get the urge for a road trip. Even if I have to take a cab to the location it will save. I'll rent from Enterprise. I've used them for years and I believe they advertize that they'll come pick you up or deliver your car to you. I'd better ask "how much" for that service!

It's a courtesy service Karen they provide and when I rented my car from them last month (I had it for 2-1/2 weeks) they picked me up and then I just had to let them know when I was done with the car, they went and picked it up, but it might be different with a "rental" as opposed to a claims rental, meaning the call and let them know where to pick up the car. . .

I couldn't believe the difference in the price. Before I book I'll call the individual location and ask them about the courtesty service and if there is a charge for it. Even if it costs about what a cab would it would still save a LOT compared to using the rental counter in the airport!

We rented a car this weekend.  Used hotwire.com.  You have to pay in advance and do not know what company it is from until you complete the payment.  I had never used hotwire, but have a friend who had lots of success.  Ended up with a Hertz rental car.  For $31 a day, including taxes and everything.

morning karen and OFF...

well its gonna be another rainy monday here in willoughby ohio...sighs...but i hope it gets done before the weekend as we have plans to go to the horseshow at the metro park saturday and then the captains baseball game at night. they will be having fireworks and also NASCAR weekend there. they will have some cars and also a nascar simulator. want to try that one for sure!!! took the whole weekend off from work just for these events. OH!! we got the tickets for the race in the mail friday and now we are getting excited for this NASCAR race!!! this will be my first in person race!!!

been working long hours last few days and i hurt!! the hip is really bothering me again since the doorknob hit me in the backside!!! had some fun yesterday with doing free demo of our pizzas. helped sales some but not as well as we thought it would but it was a start. did get to talk to the BIG manager friday morning about the food court. understand more of what is happening but still afraid of it closing soon. he did say that even if it did close up i would still have full time job someplace in that store!!! made me feel better on that for sure. sales in the food court have been low last several weeks and we are trying to figure out why. we can't get new foods in even for testing....so we have to try to do with what we have now. just frustrating.

talked to mom last night and she told me that my cousin aka my dad (long story but those of you that know me already know that story) was in the hospital. he is doing ok but waiting to see a vascular surgeon for his bleeding in groin since his heart cath. my sister is having her surgery this morning on her arm once again and hopefully this time it will be done right!!! also my older brother had his antidepressant meds changed and mom said he is like a new man!!! no more yelling and screaming at her and others and is so nice and happy now!!! FINALLY!!! tried calling my younger brother saturday night but he wasn't home. i did leave a mesage for him on his answering machine. we were at annabelles 50's diner where they had the classic cars there and oldies music playing. love those hot rods!!!! WOW!!! while leaving a message with my bro this 1970 camaro came through had a blower about 2 feet high out of engine and headers loud...rick asked him if he would lay some rubber for us...the guy looked at him like duh...but when he got to the street after driving through he did lay rubber for him!!! WOOOHOOOO!!!!!!!! all this on the message i left for my bro...never heard back from him yet. mom said they took camper upnorth for the summer thats why he wasn't home. oh well. we then went to check out quaker steak and lube but when we got close to it we noticed several cop cars so we said nope not tonight and came home.

well i rattled on long enough here and am sure i bored most so will get going.

have a good day and know i am thinking of each and every one of you!!!!

hugs...thouhgts and prayers to those that need them....

Good Afternoon Folks!

Busy weekend and came into a busy workday. . .  all good.

The weather over the weekend was just about perfect, took Foxie Roxie to the dog park on Saturday a.m. and she had a real good time, then home to clean the house, my bedroom, bathroom and sunroom really needed some sorting through and organizing, so I reorganized, drawers, closets, dusted, vacuumed and then picked up roommate, went to a meeting, took her to CVS and home to bed, because Tony was coming down bright and early to visit with us, he wanted to see how our girl Roxie was in the dog park, so he was at my house by 8, we went had breakfast, took my roommate, along with Roxie, dropped the roomie off to work, then headed for the dog park, where Roxie, played and showed her true sweet nature.  Tony was very impressed and after about an hour, Roxie was spent, so we took her home.

Then went out for lunch, to Don Pablos and had this delicious new salad on their menu (Red River Salad), which had grilled chicken, sliced avacado, red onion, greens and red grapefruit with some kind of dressing on the side of which I used very little, it was quite tasty though).  I ate 1/2 of it, then we stopped at Home Depot where I picked up some plants for my vegetable garden, beefsteak tomato plants, 1 red bell pepper plant, 1 hot banana pepper plant and one zucchini plant, still need to find some cucumber plants. . . also picked up some rosemary, sweet basil and mint.  Figured that is a good start, also bought some good soil.  We picked up Diane from work (my roomie) and then went home and planted my blueberry bush that I bought some time ago, though it's not likely I will get blueberries from it this year, especially because miss Roxie pulled the weed cover off of it and with that came the plant :(  oh well. . .  also, because I needed to water all the lovely plants/bushes, that my friend Owen had put in my backyard on Saturday, Roxie got a bath, as she loves to chase the water as it comes from the hose, so I decided, since she was all wet anyway, it was a good time to give her a bath, it was warm and sunny and so I had Tony get her shampoo and bathed and rinsed her off. . .  We took pictures and I will post some when I have a chance, then when Tony left, me and Diane proceeded to plant our vegetable garden, which was a hoot, because didn't Roxie think she should just lay in the dirt that we had prepared to plant in, so we had to persuade her with treats to get her out of the vegetable garden. . .  well when all of that was done, including fencing off the area, so Roxie and any other critters so inclined, cannot access the area, Diane went in the house and took a nap and I mowed the back and front yards, after which I ate the other half of my salad, played a few rounds of bejeweled and then me and Roxie were in bed by 9 p.m., so when Tony called to say goodnight, I was almost sound asleep and that was about 9:30.  But both Roxie and I slept like logs all night long, she did not wake me at 5 a.m. for petting time as has been her routine of the past few weeks. . .  I woke up feeling totally rested and ready for the week ahead.  So I can say without a doubt that I had a productive and fun weekend!

Wishing you all the best of things, for those facing serious life situations, I pray you find peace and strength to get through whatever it is and I wish you all a good day!

Hugs, Laureen
