long time passing. Or that's kind of how the song goes. It's after 6am west coast time. Where is everyone?

Good Morning everyone! Sure is quiet on OFF lately. Maybe we need someone to stop by and shake things up a bit. Are we bored? I just got home Friday afternoon from my daughter's. I needed some R and R before heading back over there next week.

Love those twins to pieces but they do wear me out. Erin is doing great tho so ready to greet Baby Briley! Three weeks from tomorrow if everything goes according to plan. Possibly earlier but so far so good.

Weather is finally getting spring like here. We have had a lot of wind and rain. We'll have one nice day followed by a week of not so nice.

This afternoon we plan to wash the outside of the house and the windows. I'm sure that will mean that the wind will blow big time tomorrow. And when we have wind here in the desert of SE Washington we always have dust. Especially since our new neighborhood is still full of construction!

Our new gym opened while I was gone. I plan to go tomorrow for the first time. Can't wait to see it.

Got my eyes checked yesterday. Developing cataracts also am due to get my excess upper lid skin removed again. Had it done about 10 years ago and it needs it again. it has gotten so bad that it affects my peripheral vision big time. Hope to get it taken care of by the end of the summer. I lay low for about a week after having it done as I look like I've lost a fist fight! It doesn't hurt but isn't pretty.

Time for a cup of coffee, the Sunday paper, and the sunny deck! You all have a good one.

Good morning dear Karen.....good to see your post this morning. Everyone must be sleeping in....LOL!!

Nic (grandson) text me at 7:30 this AM to let me know he and his dad are off to his first car show showing off his lime green VW Bug....he was so excited. He said he will let me know how it goes when he gets back home!!!

Not much planned for me today. I rented three movies and plan on watching a couple today. Trying to rest up when I can. I still get so tired out so easily. I hate that!! I guess that is God's way of getting me to slow down.

I feel very blessed....my grandchildren text me when ever they want....they share things with me that they don't even share with there mom and dad sometime. Nothing bad....just new boyfriend or girlfriend stuff....things like that. They know they can text me when they can't sleep or when anything bothers them. They confide in me a lot. Even during their school lunch breaks and passing between classes sometimes....silly kids!
I always let them know my cell phone is next to me anytime day or night. They can always count on me. Makes me feel special too!

I wish everyone a happy day!!

My prayers continue for all in need.

Love and hugs to all....connie d

Saw Nic's prom picture on caring bridge site. What an adorable couple. If those grins are any indication they must have had a great time!

Ah, Peter, Paul and Mary. They were great!

Gary got my computer back and running, stupid wireless internet. It won't stay connected and occasionally it's a real bear to get it hooked up again. I guess we need to get a computer network geek out here to fix it once and for all.

I'm sad too about the MIA's. It's one of the reasons I stopped posting the What Are You Eating thread. It just didn't seem like there was any interest. But, then I realized I was just contributing to the "slowness" around here. I really do blame FaceBook for the loss of members. People only have so much time in the day to devote to computer time, and since we're not really "family" here, and they can chat with real family on FB, I see the reason to be there more than here.

Well, Gary's out mowing the back yard and I'm still in jammies. Guess I better hoist it out of the chair and get moving, otherwise I will feel guilty. Not that it's well founded, he doesn't care, but if I get my chores done today, I can play tomorrow!  Yipee!

Hope everyone is doing well. Have a great day and know that I love every one of you!

Susan:

I do consider everyone here family ... I don't play around that much on Facebook. My family isn't on Facebook that much either; when I want to talk to them, I pick up the phone to chat. We are old-fashioned. I would rather talk on the phone than chat on a computer.

Susan, I still hope I get to meet you as I head south. Call or e-mail me and tell me what motels are near you so I can stop and stay near you.

I got chastised on another board for even thinking Facebook is to blame.  But that didn't change my mind.  Especially when an OH Leader ended up in the hospital and a friend found out on Facebook 12 hours after it had been posted and not one person had posted it on OH.

What's really bad is I posted on the post that I understand that is where everyone is, and it just happens.

Hi George,

So, you've noticed a decrease in posting on the TX board, too? The AR board is all but dead. I post on it about twice a month, and hardly even check it anymore.

FB is great, and a wonderful place to reconnect with old friends and such, and I enjoy checking in there a couple of times a day. But, I'm sure most folks are like me, only so much time in the day allotted to computer, so it has to be divvied up some how.

Take care!

Susan

The Texas Message Board is (was) one of the most active state boards on OH.  It probably still is.  But last week there was one night where between 6PM and 6 AM, there were a total of 5 posts posted.  That is either new topics or replies.  That is so sad.  It used to be the topics posted to for the day went more than one page on the topics list.  Now, it is more like 8 or 10 topics for a day.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
