Good Morning Connie and Friends,
I've got a bit of a "bug" of some kind going on. A headache, a bit of a fever, kind of achy. Made Mike and I a strawberry shake last night with sugar free ice cream, fresh berries, and fat free milk. He absolutely loved it. I had about 1/4 cup and I knew it was not agreeing with me. Went and laid down and wasn't better for a couple of hours. I've had issues with strawberries and grapes before. Looks like I'd learn. It tasted so good. . . and then it didn't. Still don't feel my usual good this morning.
Connie, I've enjoyed reading about Nic's wonderful summer. Nic and Grace are truly loved on all sides aren't they?
I have about a wee****il I go back to help out at Erin's again. Josh her husband has his high school football team's summer camp the last week of July. Erin is back to work after a short 3 weeks off. Being an accountant it is their busy time of year so it was either that or try to train someone to do her job. She works from home 4 days and then has a long day in Seattle (90 mile drive from home) one day a week. She's nursing Briley so that day will be an adjustment for both of them! Six weeks of that and then she'll be able to work 3 days a week through the end of the year. Briley is gaining and doing well. No breathing episodes since she has been home. She sleeps on her little custom made "wedge" to keep the acid reflux from occurring. So far so good. Hannah and Clara still refer to her as "it."
I bought a food dehydrator and I've been practicing with it. Dried apple and banana chips. Love both of them. I had bought an apple peeler, corer , and slicer recently. That gadget is amazing. The minds that are able to figure out how to make something like that! Soon apricots will be all over town free for the taking. I plan to dry those next. I'm thinking little bags of dried fruit to put in my Christmas gift bundles would be fun. I'm freezing them so they will last longer. It's kind of trial and error at figuring out how long each thing tastes. The banana chips were just about 8 hours. The apples about 16. Apricots will probably be longer yet.
Thrift store purchases! Also bought a microwave egg poacher after a friend recommended one. Those things work great! About 40 seconds and it was just right!. I've seen them for years at thrift stores but didn't know how they worked. A little experimenting and we got them figured out.
Today when I feel better I'm going to attempt to mae a little "changing table" for the twins. They keep adding their "used" baby diapers to Brileys clean pile. Thought that maybe if they had their own changing table with a place to store their diapers that would help. I bought an almost full bag of preemie Pampers at a thrift store. They fit their "babies" great. They use the same one over and over. it's fun to watch them change their babies. They get a wipe and clean it from stem to stern, diaper it and then wash the doll's face with the same wipe! Thank good ness it's just "pretend!"
I've gabbed long enough. Maybe a shower will make me feel more human. I don't get headaches often and this is just enough to make me feel a bit off.
You all have a great day.

Gee, where is everybody? After 11 a.m., and only four people posted? Guess you're all off having fun. I have to work tonight and feel just miserable ... headache, body aches. It's the weather, I know and I'm just tired. Didn't sleep very well ... Scooter woke me up at 5 and 6 a.m. until I told him to leave me alone
... then he let me sleep until 9.
I had a rough night at work ... finished on time, but the person who was checking my pages (this woman in sports) kept bothering me via IM, so I couldn't get anything done. This was right when I was trying to finish. Such a pain! My neck and shoulders really hurt. Tonight, I'm not the only person doing sports, so that should help. A little less of a load. Boy, it's hard going back to work ... I do enjoy it, but I am rusty. And it's just such a different system than I'm used to ... I'm having such difficult finding things in this system and remembering where they are. I keep thinking I'm going to fail at this.
Well, not much else ... just work. I had to call the pain clinic back in Michigan yesterday because one of my meds was out and I haven't had a chance (or the money) to get a new doc out here ... they called it into the old Walgreens back in Michigan and said I could just transfer it to my Walgreens down here. The nurse asked where I was ... she was kind of shocked that I was in Louisiana (don't know why, I told the doctor I was moving, when I left the message, said I was in Louisiana).
Anyway, have a good day.
