Everything will work out fine. Dr Bettendorf is an amazing doctor....he won't steer you wrong!!
Dr B was an associate of Dr. Glass who did my WLS. Dr B was training with Dr G at the time....they were both involved in my surgery!
Like the others said....eat slowly.....don't be afraid....measure your portions....you will be surprised how fast you fill up!
Contact me anytime if I can help you in anyway! I am also on the MN board or send a message.

Hi Nimkee,
What I hear you saying is you're a compulsive overeater, as am I. I always thought if I were an alcoholic or tobacco user I could easily give up those items and go cold turkey. I WISH I would never have to eat again; life would be much more simple. Food is wonderful in so many ways and is powerful. At the beginning you won't be able to overeat but as time goes on you will be able to eat more and more. I was the most afraid when I needed to increase my calories when I reached my goal weight. What you need to do now is take it very slowly and do exactly as your doctor recommends. Relearn everything you once thought about food while you are on this "honeymoon" stage, for these lessons will help you once you reach your desired weight to maintain.
Good luck, dear friend. You're not alone and we're here to support you.

You'll be fine. Warning...as soon as your pouch feels full (probably after just a few bites, STOP. If you don't, you'll certainly puck it back up. remember to measure everything and journal it either here on obesity help or one of the other free calorie trackers. It really helps to let you know how much protein and such you are getting in and keep you mindful of not going over on your alloted calories for the day. This is the honeymoon period where the weight will just drop off every day enjoy it! Be sure to get all your water in.
