OT Just got notified i'm losing my position at work...
My boss called tonight and informed me that they are going to run an ad in the paper for a new MDS coordinator. I asked her what that means for me when I'm released to come back to work and she said I could be a floor nurse. Sounds like a demotion to me and that's not what the FMLA rules say. I'm a department head and Medicare manager/MDS coordinator. I don't know what to think. Then on top of all that, she asked me how I was feeling today. LIKE ****!!! Thanks to her. Oh well, just when you think you've hit bottom, the floor falls out from under you again.
i agree with all of the above--and i have been very familiar with FMLA.....be sure to utilize it's protection....
as julia said use your union rep also!!!
at least she had the balls to call so you didn't just see the ad in the paper or something!
when should you be going back anyhow?
i'm sorry for the situation but maybe it's actually a godsend.....sometimes that closed door opens wonderful windows....
hugs-prayers....

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

I know this job was causing you a lot of health issues as it was. And. . . it sounds like perhaps it was going to get worse not better. Cover all of your bases, be prepared and proactive. Sounds like they are trying to get about 3 people for the price of one. This is exactly what your union reps are for. Hopefully you have one. Breathe deep you're going to need that oxygen to fight for your rights. Dig in and don't let them walk all over you.
