It's Saturday.  Was off yesterday and took my Grandaughter errand running.  I can wear her little buttocks out in about 4 hours.  Ended up at Rita's Italian Ice.  Came home (it looked like it might rain a little), so I took advantage and laid down on the sofa at 3 p.m.  When I woke up at 9:30...it had rained, dried up, and was still 80 degrees and muggy.  I went out and got my trashcan out of the street...came back in and went to bed...I've been up and down the rest of the night.

Today is Starbucks as usual but then to the ER to get my IV of Reclast.  It's like Boniva but once a year.

After that, I'm supposed to go to a bbq in Rowlett.  Not sure I even want to do that although I've got about 30 friends there.  It's food and the pool.  It's going to be hot again and quite frankly, I'm having such dehydration issues, I don't really want to be out in the heat.  I just don't drink enough water/liquid in a day.  I know.  I know.

Taking my grandson to Galveston in about 3 weeks for an adventure and want to be able to sit on the beach and get a little tan...:)  Guess I better start liking water.

Nothing else happening in my world.  Pretty dull around here, I think.

Hugs to all that need'em.

Just went to Galveston myself.  You have got to print off the map of directions for all the art pieces that were carved out of fallen oak trees from hurricane Ike.  They are increadible.  They are all pretty close together.  My favorites were the great dane, the tin woodsman, and the mermaid.

Good morning Janet and everyone....

Have a busy day ahead so I am just stopping in quickly this morning.

Kyleigh (granddaughter) got her apartment so she will be heading back to Minneapolis some time this week. I am nervous about her living alone but I have to let her fly!!!  It is in a very secure building....security guards are around all the time and plenty of cameras everywhere. She has so many friends in the area....I just have to let her go!!

Have a great day everyone.....prayers to all in need.

Love and hugs to all.....connie d

Val and I are supposed to go to Cracker Barrell for breakfast this morning.  He got a gift card from work.  I'll let him eat and I'll get a trinket from the gift shop, lol.  He plans to finish up the dirt work from the water lines on the backhoe today and I plan to finish the front bathroom.  Need to paint the trim.  I saw the ad for my position in the newspaper today.  I think it would be funny if they can't fill the position before I get released.  I've half a mind to tell them to shove it and take the floor nurse position anyway.  It would serve them right, lol.  I called the FMLA people yesterday and tried to email the Dept of Labor but their link is messed up.  I will have to call them on Monday.  I wonder if I could apply for disability?  They are saying Maj. Depression, Anxiety, and possible PTSD.  It's a thought...

Good Morning Janet:

Today we are up and getting ready to leave the house to go to South Jersey to have breakfast with a very, very, very dear friend and collegue of Gene's.  After meeting up for breakfast at the Kountry Kitchen in Pittsgrove NJ, Gene and I are going to head over to the Gloucester County 4H fair grounds.  Gene has never been to a 4H fair sooooooooo I think it's time to introduce him to something that was a huge part of my development as a young woman.  It's going to be a hot one so not sure how much time we'll spend out there.  Today is the peach festival bake off.  Back in the late 60's I won the blue ribbon for the peach back off with my grandmom's recipe for peach cobbler and homemade whipped cream.......

After that I'd like to head over to Cowtown Rodeo to wander their Saturday flea market - again depends on the heat index if we do that.  Otherwise might head down to Berlin Farmers Market to wander the air conditioned buildings we'll see what the rest of the day brings.

Stay hydrated today - hope everyone's Saturday is enjoyable...

good morning to everyone

i think after the gym this morning i am going to hibernate in my nice cool house.  they are
saying 100 today, that is way too hot for me.

well this monday it will be four years since my surgery and of course i am so thrilled to
have all that excess weight gone.  i am struggling though with about 18 pounds that have
crept back over the four years and im finding that it is a battle to drop them again.  i do not
feel any restrictions with most foods when i eat, and i know that i have to use my own good common sense and work out a plan.

to be honest though its scary.  i know i can conquer this i know i can i know i can

wishing everyone a wonderful weekend, and please stay hydrated and healthy.

hugs, Jacki

Good morning Janet and everyone on OFF,

I'm just trying to get motivated and get my butt in gear.  Just hearing the weather forecast just makes me want to crawl back into bed.

We made this *huge* batch of corn-black bean salsa salad for my family get together this afternoon and I'm committed to going at least for a short time although all my inner voices are yelling at me to bail out now, I'll be hot and miserable and people might be smoking inside the house and yadda yadda.  I tend to do these things to myself and get myself all anxious.  Sigh.  I'm still going.

I just need to get up now and go slice up some tomatoes.

Have a super Saturday everyone and stay cool!

Good mornin', ya'll.

Well, I am back. I went to NY to attend my 45th high school reunion and to bury Momma's ashes next to Dad and my brother. My daughter and granddaughter came out from OR to be there, too. We had a wonderful time. I spent an entire day with me Sis, also.  Did some sewing for her, showed her some stuff on the 'puter.  Stuff I show her everytime I see her. She is a 10 year breast cancer survivor. But in the last month she has dropped 20 pounds for no reason. She is an 'if I don't find out, it isn't so' kinda person. I hope she gets to the doctor soon to find out what is happening.

I gained 2 more pounds while I was in NY. Eating out everyday sure takes it's toll. I am having such a struggle with this post surgery weight gain. I know I have to step up the exercise, it's just so hard to get motivated.

I sure love the NY summers. No humidity! But now I'm back in NC where you start sweating just walking out on the porch at 6 AM. I LOVE everything else about NC though.

Everyone have a fantabulous day!

Good morning Janet & all. This morning I am depressed. My grandkids are leaving for Texas today. Morgan, my 7 yr. old cancer survivor was in tears, so was I. I kept 3 of them last night. We all slept in my king size bed. My x-dil had made some really bad mistakes & they are all paying for them. She has 4 girls with my son & now has a boy & girl wth her boyfriend. He has 3 from a previous marriage & they brought all 9. If she doesn't figure it out soon I worry she will be deaqt in a few years. Long story, at least I have a good relationship with her.

On a good note my son will be in Indiana in the fall. I told him if he wants the girls for the summer next year, I will come & help him. Six hours is so much better than 16!!!
Well I will keep busy today so as not to get to down. Have a great wekend everyone.
Nan
