For me, it's finding the time during the work day to eat like I should. I take my 2 snacks and lunch, plus 4 bottles of water and an iced protein coffee with me every day. Some days I bring some of it home, in fact, most days....except the water, which I usually get in because if I can't eat, at least I can drink!
Just like before surgery, evenings are the hardest time. If I haven't gotten all of my calories in during the day, then I try to make up for it in the evening. Seems an awful lot like grazing if you ask me. But, I justify it in my own little pea brain by thinking "well, you've only had 1000 cals today, you need another 400". Not all my choices are the best, but I try to not have things in the house that are dangerous, like chips, cookies, and other treats. But, even too much of a good thing can turn ugly in no time.
So.....let's hear from you. The good, the bad and the ugly. No judgements, just honesty.

Our garage sale outing turned into a very long ride. Tom's gouty foot couldn't take much walking but the ride was excellent. We packed a cooler of cold drinks because it was hot and humid. so hot that despite 4 bottles of water I didn't need even one 'pit stop'.
Several places had chicken barbecues or hot dog stands. They smelled good. On the way home Tom asked if we could please have hot dogs with the fresh veggies we bought for dinner. That's what we did.YUM
Today I'll have the same old stuff.

This eating every two hours is definately the pits when you are out and about..but, I try...

cereal
crackers (4) with cheese
graham cracker with peanut butter
blackened chicken salad with lots of veggies..this salad was
huge, could have fed 5 people..needless to say...I brought
most of it home

V8 juice, waited then ate 1 cheese stick
I still hate eating this much...its getting in the calories and carbs...I do feel better , but my belly is very bloated and feels full all the time...not hurting but, uncomfortable...I see the surgeon in a week cause I may have another hernia. We'll have to wait and see...
Off to grocery shop with my mom...have a great Sunday

HOW do you drink 4 1/2 bottles of WATER?? I can't get a whole bottle down. Guess that's why I have the darned IV's.. which, btw, I had the Reclast. Hit me like a ton of bricks. They said a side effect was flu-like symptoms and my body might hurt.. they weren't lying. It's 4:30 p.m on Sunday and I just got up without a headache...this has just not been pretty.. but it's only once a year so I think I can live with it.
But I can tell you, I'm a whupped puppy this weekend.

Well, I guess I just do. I can't stand diet soda anymore, don't want the hassle of making iced tea, and I can keep track of my water intake with the 16 oz bottles. I know that I need at least 3 a day (the milk from my lattes counts for fluids), so I take at least that many with me to work. If I want a snack or something, I don't let myself have it until I drink a bottle of water. Kind of an incentive.
Sorry about the Reclast. My doctor has threatened me with it, but right now my bone density seems to be holding on without the Fosamax. That was bad enough! Hope it goes away soon.
