Hmm, I met this most wonderful man on a street corner in Rappallo, Italy. He and his friend were in the US Navy. They directed us to a bar where we all danced a lot. I was a very shy 16 years old and I was there with my Mom and a bunch of folks from her work.

I had to pee even before we met them. After awhile I couldn't hold it a minute longer and told him I had to use the restroom. He said he had to go too and showed me the way.  The bathroom was co-ed!!!! There was no way in he** I was gonna let him hear me pee, like I could hear him!! I was very uncomfortable for the rest of the evening.

BTW, we danced for a few hours, he walked me back to our hotel, we sat in the gardens for awhile and he asked me to marry him! Three weeks after I turned 18 I did!! We've been married for nearly 45 years.

My first date with this guy he took me to see the movie "Little Big Man" with Dustin Hoffman at a drive-in theater.  Did not offer me a drink or anything the whole movie.  I was 17 and the content of the movie had rape, sex, and violence.  I wanted to crawl under the car seat.  The guy called and asked me for another date and 'yes' came out of my mouth to my utter surprise.  The guy is my husband.

Can't say this is a date story because I've only had five dates in my whole life and none of them have been all that horrible, but I'll tell of one almost encounter.

I put myself out there post-WLS on plentyoffish.com ... got one guy that was pretty good who I met once and then never saw again, so I kept looking. So I contacted this one guy who sounded somewhat normal and interesting, and we messaged back and forth for awhile. He said he was an ex-lawyer, now a landscaper. OK, I told him what I did, he said he knew some folks at the newspaper, including one of our reporters. Then he told me why he was an ex-lawyer: Two years ago, he was caught in an online sting targeting sexual predators. He thought he was contacting a teenager to meet in the park, when it was a cop. He was arrested, pleaded guilty and spent 18 months in prison, lost his license to practice law. When he got out of prison, he started mowing lawns, which led to him starting a landscaping business.

I was flabbergasted ... I looked him up in the Press library and found his name, and he was right there with all the details, just as he said. I told all this to my coworker Kim and asked her what she thought ... I wanted to be fair-minded about this. I mean, the guy did his time. Kim said I should consider how I would feel introducing him to my mom, my brothers, etc. Well, that did it. I cut off communication with him.

And that ended my foray into plentyoffish.com. I could only hook the perverts on that place.
