Hello, my name is Nan, I'm 53 ... I had my RNY at Barix in Langhorne, PA in March of 2006.  I've lost 286# and have not reached my goal.  However, after a plastic consultation this week, I found out that I have no more to lose on my own.  I have lymphedema and all I left on my body that is excess is skin and lymph tissue.  So the last 15-20# will only come off after surgery.  I am extremely excited about getting to this point, I just never knew it would be such a sobering experience.  It's as though I was drunk for 4 years trying to succeed, now that I am there, I feel so sober its scary.  Now I have to find a way to eat normal without gaining.  So my control will be a big issue, since I found I can not be around food in a buffet situation or a party with food out to pick at.  My control is lost and I wind up grazing for hours on end.  So I have removed myself from those situations.

Hope I can help someone, I stuck it out because of my stubborness to give up, and OMG, it paid off.  I still can't believe my battle with the scale is now done.  I only have to pay attention and reap the rewards.
