That would be great, still have to get the 22nd off before I come down your way. Regardless ... go Rangers, beat the Twinkies, help my White Sox.

Hello everyone

I have been gone for quite awhile.  Took a cruise to Alaska, a trip to Dallas to stay with my grandkids, and then spent a week with my mom in Louisiana.  She is doing so well.  She will turn 89 in December and is acutally healthier than she was a year ago.  go figure.

Went to the fitness center this morning.  I have decided to work with a personal trainer for a few sessions to get familiar with the equipment circuit at this place.  Got to get back to a routine, also need the accountability.  They also have some new classes that seem interesting.  they have Zumba which I tried elswhere and hurt my knee.  Of course they taught the class on a rubber floor (stupid)  You can't dance in tennis shoes on rubber.  You turn your body but your feet don't move so your wrench your knees.  this place has wooden floors and some of the folks wear jazz shoes which allow you to move.
Another class is a drumming class.  Your stand with a large ball in front, back, and on each side of you.  Your drum to music with movement.  You drum on each ball depending on what the instructor tells you.  At least that is how it was described to me.  I haven't gone yet.  Will go on Wednesday.

Well, have a great day everyone.

Hey Linda. . .

Glad to hear you had a nice cruise and that everything seems to be good. . .  Zumba is lots of fun and while it can be hard on our joints, you do it to the level you can and just keep moving your body, I stand in the back and just move myself all around, one of my PA support group friends just told me about a place that only charges $3 per class, so I am going to start going to that one.  One of the women I know who had her surgery around the same time as me, was saying that her Mom started doing Zumba and watching what she eats and went from a size 22/24 down to 16, so it's a great fat burner. . .  let me know about that drum class, have not heard of that one before. . .

Good to see you and have a great day!

Laureen

Hey girlfriend

Before my knees got too bad I took 7-9 dance classes a week...ballroom, tap, line dance(both country and broadway).  Loved  it.  Since the surgery on my left knee I am hoping I can handle the zumba class.  I have always loved to dance.  Unfortunately most guys don't.   My first husband especially.  John likes to dance but he is always a 1/2 beat or so behind, after a few measures it gets difficult.  That's why I like line dancing.  You are on your own.  No one can mess you up.  If you make mistakes they are yours.

I'll report on the drumming, I think that class is 8:30 Wednesday.

See ya

Hi George and all my OFF friends,
Hubby got six yellow jacket bee stings on Saturday.  He was trimming bushes in the front and threw a log to the side and it landed on a nest in the ground.  He gets awful headaches and big welts at the site of the stings.  So he got started on Benedryl and anti-itch cortisone creams.  He was feeling much better by the evening.
I got my granddaughter some really cute clothes and a book for her 3rd birthday.  I will pop them in the mail today.
Our cubmaster's father is terminally ill so I offered to start making arrangements for our first cub scout Pack meeting at the end of August.  I've heard rumors that the boys had a great time at summer day camp.  I can't wait to hear their stories.
I got a lot done on the weekend but still lots more to do.  Tonite I will be spending some quality time in the basement trying to make room for the junk upstairs to go downstairs. LOL.
Hugs and best wishes to everyone.
Bev

Good Afternoon:

I had my upper GI @ 10am.  Now I'm exhausted!

I'm working on some emails from work - getting some letters typed up and emailed over to my boss so they can be faxed this morning.  boss told me to work from home today and to take a nap if I get too tired.  things are quiet in the office.

I think the water heater situation is fixed.  Replaced the old water heater on Saturday morning.  My honey sweated all the pipes on his first try, hooked up the electric, then nothing.  Had to call out the electric company - their weekend crew is amazing.  Saturday it was working, Sunday morning it was off again, called the electric company out.  They had to do something with the meter again so as far as I can tell I will have ho****er again today.

Mom is doing good.  We went over to the Physical therapy rehab yesterday to see her.  She likes the staff so it's all good at this point.  She is also realizing that it takes her longer to bounce back after each surgery/joint replacement she is having.  Tough thing for her to deal with.

Gene preached at church yesterday.  Our pastor is on vacation so Gene takes on the role of Assistant Pastor while he is waiting to be called to a church.  His sermon was awesome!!!!  Then again I might be a bit biased

Hope everyone has a great day...

Ida

I'm home from my short vacation. We stayed in a rustic restaurant that has been converted into a cabin. The pines smelled wonderful, the weather was perfect (75 - 85), and the company was good. I came home and got to see my daughter and Grand dog. Today I'm cleaning and doing lots of laundry. Life is good!
