I do plan on coming here often. I think support is the mainstay of success. We all need it. It's so important that we are here for each other.

It sounds like you are a success story if you can't remember the bigger days. To have kept it off for 7 years is wonderful and encouraging to others that it CAN be done!
My only regret is that I do it sooner. I guess it just wasn't the right time. Everything is goididn't ng great. I have lost 66 lbs as of today. I am only 64 days out so I guess I'm doing pretty good!

Hi Viv, nice to meet you! Way to go on your fantastic weight loss so far! Isn't it wonderful to get off all those medications? My diabetes is in remission and I don't have high blood pressure or high cholesterol any more. It really is, as you say, a fun and exciting journey! BTW, I'm Cassie, 55 and had my duodenal switch in April 2009. My husband had the same surgery in November 2008. Between the two of us, we've lost two people, lol! Look forward to hearing more from you! :)

I am thrilled to be off all those meds! I only take 5 actual medications now! Plus I have to take my Bariatric Advantage Vitamins and Minerals and the B12 and all but it sure beats taking all those other meds!
I am so happy to hear that your diabetes is in remission! That's awesome! My blood pressure is normal now, too! I haven't had my cholesterol checked yet but I'm hoping it's normal, too. I go to see my sugeon, Dr Schoen, tomorrow for my last post-op appointment. I'm hoping he will draw a cholesterol level. I know he'll be thrilled when he sees how much I've lost since the last time I saw him. He was out of town when I had my last appointment so he hasn't seen me in over 2 months. I have lost over 50 lbs since then! lol We'll see!
