Thanks Connie. I'll do almost anything to keep the weight off and build up these old bones.

Hey Margo and my OFF buddies!

Off to get ready for another busy day. Going to see lots of great folks today and that's always fun.

Another stinking, miserable hot day, with heat index up to 112. By far this is the worst summer we've had since moving here 5 years ago.

Okay, enough for me.  Gotta run!!!  Hope everyone has a awesome day!

I'm up and at it early this morning.  Had a really good chat with my son this morning.  He gave me lots of tips with my exercise routines and such.  He is opening a fitness center near his home in Chesapeake, VA.  I sometimes forget how truely blessed I am in my life with 3 wonderful children and a husband that loves me with all his heart.  I am going to hop on the elliptical early today so I don't get sidetracked with that.  He told me to go 30 min. 2xday instead of 45min. once a day.  I'll give it a try.  It's still blazing hot here.  Just trying to keep the outside plants watered enough.    Ya'll have a good day.

Morning Margo,

Sleep deprivation can wreck havoc with me, makes me look at life the wrong way, so I try to make sure I get at least 6 hours, as that is my minimum before turning into a not so nice person/and or serious depressive tendencies. . .  In AA, the warn us of not getting into HALT, an acronym for Hungry, Angry, Lonely, Tired, as any of those can be lethal to our well being and put 2 or more together and it's truly a recipe for disaster. . .

Anyway, it's Friday, I have early hours and it's been a busy day, sneaking on for a bit to say hi to my friends here and as I read some of the posts I was saddened for the loses and/or challenges some are facing and I wish peace and strength to those facing them and to you all in whatever way, we all have challenges on a day to day basis. . .

Nettie, sounds like you are working it girlfriend. . . you go. . .

My weekend is about taking Diane to visit her guy in Prison, then we will be attending a pool party, AA women's meeting and bed. . .  Sunday, well I'll just have to see what, besides the usual, I will be doing. . .

Well that's all from me folks. . . have a good day.

Hugs, Laureen

I'll have to remember HALT ... I have been Lonely and Tired lately, and that leads to head hunger. I actually tried calling people Tuesday because I was bored and lonely Tuesday, but no one was home. That's usually my solution (worked out with my psychologist a year after my surgery) if I get the urge to emotional eat (or spend, too) ... pick up the phone and talk, or find someone to talk to in person. Just communicate ... because I love to talk. But there are times no one is available ... then I'm in trouble. So I have to try to handle my problems on my own.

Hi Margo and all my OFF friends,
I'm peeved.  We have had the same bedroom set (and it's not a set) for 38 years.  A local furniture store is offering 4 years loans at no interest so I say let's get a new bedroom set - Hubby says NO.  I told him @ $75 a month I could pay it off in 3 years.  He says the money would be better spent on kitchen and bathroom modifications we want to make.  But we've been talking about these modifications for 2+ years and they haven't even been started yet.  I'm betting I could have this paid off before Mr. Procrastinator even starts one of these projects.  I am so frustrated.  That feels better, just had to vent.
Since I went to the psychologist, it's been easier to control what I'm eating - go figure. The scale went down this morning by a 1 lb. Yay.
Got invited to my former foster daughters baby shower last night.  That will be so cool.  She moved about 6 hours away so she will be in the neighborhood for the shower.  She is having a girl.
No plans for this weekend.  Just getting the house ready for company on the weekend of the 29th.  Need to get some bags of junk loaded in the truck tonite for Hubby to take to the transfer station.
Hugs and good thoughts to all.
Bev

Hi Margo and my OFF family:

Back in the sauna here ... 95 degrees and it's supposed to storm today/tonight ... I feel it. I have a headache and neck ache. Yesterday was a ***** at work. I was doing fine with my A1 for Opelousas until I had to put the promos on the page ... the editor waited too long and then I had to keep asking him where to find the photos for it (he gave me incorrect directions) ... so I wound up missing deadlines. Pissed me off. I would have been fine except for that. Plus ... and this is funny ... our proofer ran out of paper. So someone says, "It's out of paper. Where can I get more?" And Stacey, the supervisor, says, "We won't get more paper until Monday." Oh ... well, I guess they don't care if we proof pages ... except we've been told to cut down on errors. So much for that!

My cake was second-string yesterday; another coworker brought in a giant cookie (or cookie cake, as she called it). So most people were opting for that instead and hardly touched my from-scratch cake. Those that did loved it. But most of it is still at work ... I refused to bring it home. I left it in the refrigerator.

For some reason last night, I was extremely itchy in strange places ... like the tip of my left index finger. I put hydrocortisone on it and finally had to put band-aids on it to keep from scratching, it was bothering me so much. It actually woke me up ... got up at 4 a.m. and couldn't get back to sleep, so I read "The Red Queen" for awhile ... almost done already with this book, it's so good. Philippa Gregory needs to write another book, and fast, because I love her writing!

The guy they hired for Shreveport sports who sits next to me is leaving in two weeks ... he's going to work for a small paper closer to his home in Shreveport. I had a feeling he wasn't going to last long. The pace here is fast and the workload is heavy ... I kinda like it because I'm kept busy and not bored. But it's tough.

Well, off to work again tonight, back to doing sports.
Have a good day.
