Still having to re-learn. . .

No, the pool has no shade whatsoever. It's smack dab in the sun. I went out today to take garbage to the dumpster before work. By the time I got to my car, I thought I was going to have an asthma attack, it was so friggin' hot and humid. If they give us a choice of where to move in two years, I'll take Phoenix ... drier air has to be better for my body.

As for the sprinkler, I'd be limping through it.

How about after the sun goes down or would the bugs eat you up? Phoenix is dry but blazing hot in the summer. I think if I lived there I'd have a house dug into a hill with one side facing east!

Most of the time I'm at work when the sun goes down ... the other two days of the week, it's still pretty damn hot. It's still in the 80s at night and steamy. And I don't know how safe I'd feel swimming at night by myself. And yes, the bugs would carry me away!

Or you could just set up the chaise lounge under the sprinkler, Eileen.  After all, with no kids involved, there wouldn't be anyone running circles around your chair.  Although that might be fun to lie back and watch.  Children can really enjoy the moment.

I miss my grandson.  Sigh....

How long before he'll be old enough to spend some time with you on his own? I can't wait to take my grands camping and to the beach!

My grandson is 4, and he lives over 12 hours away.  Unfortunately, my son's priorities don't include me having time with my grandson, or even with my son and his wife.  They're in the area now for a week, and her Mom has most of those days all filled up.  If my son feels like making an effort, I may see them for an afternoon while they're here.  I've learned not to push for time together, or the resulting visit is uncomfortable for everyone.  The weird thing is that I really like my daughter-in-law.  She's just extremely close to her family, and my son can't be bothered to make an effort.

Sad but true.  I'm hoping my son grows up soon, so I get to see my grandson grow up.

Eileen, On my way to and from my daughter's about a 5 hr trip I would "entertain" myself with a small bad of Cheese Puffs. Oh, how I love how they melt in my mouth! Welll, that was getting out of hand and leading to more carbs. Last night I slept better than I have in a long time. Today is going well so far. Now planning on losing anything from this just trying to get back on track. It went so well for me for a long time; why do I have to rock my boat! Thanks for the support; it is appreciated.

I love the idea of running through the sprinkler... I'd do it without a child. I just say to myself "Be brave, be brave..." Who cares what people think of you. I would be watching and thinking "I LIKE her!"

all I have to really do is turn on the automatic sprinklers and "adjust" a few. I always end up soaked. think I'll do just that in my shorts and a tee!!
