Sunday - Probably another hot one!
I have been MIA but have been thinking about writing to everyone. Life just catches up to you and sometimes you don't know what direction to go in.
I have been having trouble with my back. I went to the docs and she told me I have a bad curvature of the spine. (Scoliosis) SHe made me take about 30 X-rays. Her office called and she left for vacation and will have another doc look over my x-rays. However, they found a nodule on my thyroid. I go Monday for an ultrasound. Great.
I have heard of others having trouble with their thyroid after surgery, does anyone think there is a correlation?
So, now I will have to sit and wait for the results because she will be gone for a week.
I guess there is nothing really they can do about the spine. It scares me because my mom had osteoporis and scoliosis and died because her spine pressed on her lungs and she could no longer breathe.
Well, I am keeping my knockers up and hoping for good news!
Have missed chatting with everyone.. I hope everyone is doing well....
Prayers-
Peace
I am on my way. What a ride it has been.

So sorry to hear about your back problems. It's miserable when you have those problems, you just can't seem to get comfortable. Add to that your family history and it's no wonder you're concerned. Hopefully when your doc gets back they can figure out something for you.
Yesterday's photo shoot was a BLAST! Turns out the father of the family is the head of the Pathology Dept at our major hospital, hence the need to send out 300 Christmas cards. Mom, Ginger is a sweet, warm and funny woman and they have three brilliant kids. The oldest is a graduate of Vanderbuilt with a Master's degree in some fancy-smancy thing that (at 23) has her working in D.C. and traveling for the Gov. Son is in his 3rd year at Notre Dame(where mom and dad graduated from), and youngest daugher is on her way to Stanford. WOW! I could retire on what they've spent on college tuition alone!
Their house is a four story Toudor style home that was over the top beatuiful, and so tastefully done.
Go****'s nice to see how the other half lives, but better to know that not all of them are snooty, snotty hoity-toities. These are the kind of folks you'd love to have a glass of wine or a beer with. So, I'm super glad I went, it was a nice ending to another busy and wonderful day at the salon.
Today is kind of a let down with not much to do but stay inside and avoid the heat. Oh yeah....a friend of mine is GIVING me a Gazelle! You know, those exercise machines that Tony Little advertises? Well, if I don't like it or can't use it, I'll sell it. Win-win either way!
Love you guys!

My hubby Val and I teamed up yesterday and went through the house from top to bottom. We stayed totally out of the heat all day. This morning we plan to get out early and water our poor plants though before it gets too hot. The weather has been crazy hot this summer. Today we plan to go to Lowes and pick up a few things we need to finish up a few projects around the house and work on them. I'm starting to get used to the increased dose of the clonopin so I'm not sleeping all day any more thank goodness. They do make me goofy at times. I replaced a hinge on my closet door yesterday and put it on upside down twice before I got it right. That's not like me, lol.
The photo shoot sounded like it would be fun! Mary- the back thing is the pits... I empathize... and Sybul- I have to admit that upside down hinges and all- THANK GOD FOR THE DRUGS! For myself they are keeping me sane for sure. Thank you for all of your thoughts yesterday. You are right- this fall has been much worse than the car accident. But I feel as if I turned a corner toward healing yesterday. I'm not yet ready to go back to work,,, but the pain is less, the spasms have finally been reduced. Ahhhhh. Breathing is somewhat easier. Thanks again for your support. You are a group of kind women.

I am hoping your back gets better fast.....Ugg for Docs going on vacation. I to had thyroid problems after my surgery about 7 years out. I had one nodule and my thyroid was enlarged. I had a scan and it saw 2 nolules and they wanted to do a needle biopsy and I wouldnt let them. No one is sticking a needle in my neck. My levels were good, but they wanted to do an mri and theydid. It showed I had 3 nodulres so they decided to do surgery and take out only the left side that was involved, but when the doc got in there she took out the whole thyroid cause she suspected cancer and it sure was !!!!!
Do what they say to do in the order they want to do things. It will all turn out fine.
I hope Im not scarring you.
Call me.

We took Amanda and Dylan to play miniature golf. The weather was balmy, the landscaping gorgeous, and it was loads of fun. My golf skills are laughable but isn't that the point of FUN? 7 strokes on a par 3, and worse. But I did hit the only hole in one.

Kisses

Good Morning Everyone,
Thanks so much for all of the support yesterday. I"m feeling better today; have a bit of a "grip" at least! Day 2 of Pouch Test is going fine so far. I slept better last night than I have in several weeks. Hmmm . . .Could "de-carbing" have anything to do with it? Sure will look forward to having something that I can chew tomorrow!
I'm sure getting a lot done. Every time I want something to eat I'm choosing a small "project." We've been in our new home almost 2 years. Time to clean out some of the drawers already. Silverware drawers have a way of collecting crumbs. Why is that? Already today I have vacuumed the whole house, washed a load of clothes, dusting is next. Don't know why but dusting seems so futile around here. Lots of construction still going on so it doesn't stay nice long.
The weather is pleasant. Low 90s with a light breeze and blue skies. I need to mow the lawn but will wait til this evening probably when it's cooler or early tomorrow perhaps. Hope you all have a nice day. It won't be long before our days are shorter and summer turns to fall. Make the most of it!
Sending healing vibes to those in need, pleasant thoughts to everyone. You are my rock to lean on and my hand to hold when I need one. Thanks for ALWAYS being here.

Peg, I complain constantly about how poorly I sleep. . . Well, I slept better last night than I have in a long time. Just wish I would remember that those refined carbs have no place in my life. Not even little bits. . . because one little bit leads to another and another and another. . .
Yes, my little light is shining brighter today. I don't like me grumpy. I like myself most of the time but even I have a hard timer tolerating me when I'm in the pit!
