Sunday - Probably another hot one!
Hi Mary and my OFF family:
Mary, it seems thyroid problems run in families; my grandmother had them and so did my oldest brother, who had to have his removed a few years ago. He is now on thyroid meds and doing fine. As for the scoliosis, I have it, so does my other brother Gary ... so I think it runs in families, too. I didn't find out about it until I went to the pain doctor. He said it's congenital. Mine isn't real bad, but it's part of the reason I have such severe lumbar pain.
Another hot day down in La. 97 degrees and steamy humid. Yesterday afternoon, I went out to the car to go to work, carrying my purse, my lunch cooler and a bag of garbage ... the parking lot isn't that far. By the time I got to the car, I was out of breath ... the ferocity of the heat and humidity was causing a mini-asthma attack. I had to sit in the car for a few minutes and wait for the a/c to kick in to catch my breath. Never had that happen before.
We had a not-so-fun night at work last night ... everything was going wrong. We are out of paper until Monday for the big proofer, so we have to use this other printer ... and it wouldn't print. Two papers were having problems getting their photos to us; then their pages weren't getting out to press for some reason, then a lot of other pages were going to "error" as they were being sent out. I never got my pages out to proof, I had to have someone look at them on the computer. I did actually download the USA Today baseball package by myself ... now that someone showed me the right way to do it. Anyway, back to work today.
Talked to my brother Gary and my mom already; finishing up my second cup of coffee and watching the White Sox game (they blew it last night).
Well, that's all for me. Have a good day.
