Hi Carla and everyone,

Glad you and Carl are back home safe.    Sounds like the wedding plans are going good.
Hope you have a good sleep.

I slept for about an hour and woke up to take another pain pill so I'm walking around waiting for it to kick in so I can lay back down.   Thought I would check in to see what's happening in OFF land.   Since I'm back to work it's usually late in the evening before I check in and then I figure it's to late to post.

Hope everyone has a great Thursday!!

Melissa

Good Morning Carla....

I've been awake since 02:15am this morning.  Oral surgey is painful - my mouth has been throbbing since then.  Took the pain meds as well as some tylenol.  Have to pick up another perscription this morning for more pain medication.

I also have to find liquid multi-vitamin while I'm at the drug store today.  I'm not sure when I'll be able to chew my centrum vitamins again and don't want to risk loosing my vitamins at this point.
Yesterday great news from my daughters neurosurgeon, she is too young and the herniated disc's are not pinching the nerves so she is not a candidate for back surgery yet.  He suggested some procedures that her pain management doc has not tried yet and also told her, she needs to quit smoking, lose some weight, and start exercising to build her core muscles to take pressure off the back.  She said she'll start with the smoking, I hope she quits, she quit for 3 years then about a year ago started again...

Hope everyone has an awesome day...

Ida

Glad you're back home safe Carla.  I bet you'll look good in your mother of the bride dress.  Red is one of my favorite colors.  Took Eddie all over town yesterday and thought I was going to fall apart before we got home.  That's the most driving and the longest time I've been away from home since I went on FMLA in June.  He got all his gear and clothes for school and starts back today.  I have a pretty full day ahead of me.  I am going to change out the light fixture over the kitchen table, put in a new switch, change out the ceiling fan for a new one in my bedroom, and try to pick up this house some.  They are working on the road down from my house this morning and it will be shut down completely from 8-noon.  I can't figure how they can do that when it is the only way in or out for about 20 families.  Ya'll have a good day and cross your fingers that I don't electrocute myself or burn the house down, lol,

Wow, Sybul, that's impressive!  I wouldn't know how to even start such a project, and even my husband wouldn't do anything like that. Good for you!

Tosay I have my second consult with a plastic surgeon. We're going to discuss my arms. I think I might hold off on doing the "girls" and see what the possibility of doing arms/abdomen at the same time. Ruth says they might not do it, and she's certainly been around the block with plastics and knows what she's talking about, but I want to see what the doc says. So, I'll let you know.

Not much else going on here, just another stinking hot day. Hope you all are having a good one. Off to get ready to go.

Love and hugs!

Susan

Carla,

Glad to hear you and Carl made it home safely.  Hopefully you be traveling thru Indy again sometime soon.

Tomorrow we leave for the OH Conference in Cincinnati.  It won't be the same as Chicago without you, but I'm sure we'll still have a good time.

Went to the doctor again on Monday for my abdominal pain.  He sent me for bloodwork since it's been over a year since I've had any and also referred me to a Gastro specialist.  My appointment with him is on Monday afternoon.  My doctor thinks I have an Inguinal Hernia but doesn't think it should be causing any pain.  From what I read, it sounds right, but it is causing pain.  Hopefully I'll know more next week.

We're heading to the Indiana State Fair after work tonight so I'm hoping it doesn't get too hot today.  Hope everyone has a great day.

Hi Carla and my OFF family:

I came home last night to this big wet spot on my carpet in the hallway ... there was another, smaller spot by the bathroom threshold. Both were too large to be kitty pee and they didn't smell like it, either. After trying to sop it up, I looked in the utility closet, where the water heater is, and there was water on the floor. So I put in a maintenance request on the apartment complex's website. I called again when I got up, and the manager said Alvin, the maintenance guy, would be over shortly. That was at 9:30 ... he's still not here. I guess shortly means something different in the South.

I'm just glad it wasn't Scooter's fault. I was worried I'd have to take him into the vet. I have lots of "must pay" bills this paycheck, and a vet visit isn't on my list.

Last night, I learned another of our copy editors is leaving in two weeks. This is a young man from the Chicago area who wanted to be a reporter and go back to the Midwest ... well, he got half his wish ... he's going to be a cops and courts reporter in a city closer to New Orleans called Houma. I also started doing the business page for Monroe. Not much of a biz page ... more of a half page, actually. But it's something different. Guess I'll also be doing more Monroe sports, too, with Eric leaving.

Anyway, not much going on, just work again tonight, waiting for Alvin to fix whatever is leaking here before I have a real mess. Have a good day.
