Hi Carla and my OFF family:

I'm winding down from a wild football Friday. Actually, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Just that everything came in at the last minute, then I had to slap it on the page without giving it a good read. Then I had the managing editor standing behind me while I worked, which made me really nervous, yet I had to let it go and work as fast I could. I just kept my mouth shut. I got the last page out five minutes after deadline, not too bad considering the last copy came in at 11:45 p.m.

Sorry about your migraines ... haven't you found some good drugs for that yet?

We had a potluck at work tonight ... lots of good stuff and I ate too much probably, but not as much as some of the others.

Well, I'm just finishing up watching "Warehouse 13" ... a rather quirky series on SyFy. Time to go to bed soon. Another fun night of work ... this time it's college football.

Have a good day ... no plans for me for the weekend, working Saturday and Sunday, I think I have Monday and Tuesday off as usual.

Good Morning Carla and Eileen,
I'm up for a few minutes to take my pills. My back is healing so I take my pills only at night. I drove to Tracy today for the first time in a month. I had lunch with four colleagues and then went to my school for hugs. Remember how I spent several weeks this summer moving into an old portable building? WELL, they moved me out today and back into a small room. I wasted about three weeks of my summer putting that room together. Holy cow! But now I can't lift anything, so when I do get back to work I will be pointing to where things go rather than doing it all myself. My new room was my room several years ago and it is my favorite. It has a window that is PERFECT for African Violets. It is freshly painted, the carpet is clean.... all is good. I'm getting a handicapped placard for my car and the parking spot is very close to my new office. The other wonderful piece of today were the hugs. The children mobbed me- they have not forgotten. Most are too young or too handicapped to realize that I'm having a Cancer scare, but they know I hurt. My plans for today include Scrabble with a girlfriend (she's a glutten for punishment :)) and dinner with two other couples. The rest of the weekend will be laid back in preparation for my CT-PET Scan on Tuesday morning in San Francisco. I have been assured by my oncologist that I can call for my results on Thursday afternoon. If the nurse calls me back it will be good news. If the oncologist calls me back it will be bad news. If I hear a male voice I might faint. My best girlfriend will be with me that afternoon. I'm quite sure it will be good news. If so it will be quite a load off my mind!
Happy Saturday to all..... ENJOY!

Julia, glad you are feeling better and getting help for yourself. It's no shame getting a handicapped sticker. I have one; if you have a bad back, you should have one too.

Be good to yourself and find something fun in life.

Morning Carla and my gang!

Hope the puppy dog feels better soon. It's as bad as having a sick child, since they really are our "other" children!

My poor toe is finally better, but now I have an issue with my "bad" ankle. While in NO, I got up from the dinner table and felt a snap in my foot, and it's been very sore since. This ankle has many, many issues from the ruptured Achilles three years ago, and I've thought it might be from just doing too much walking. But...it's sore to the touch, can't wear any closed shoes, and I'm starting to worry. Of course with the holiday I won't be able to get to the orthopedist until who knows when. If I can just get this house re-fi to go through it can rest while I recover from my plastics in three weeks.

My little issues are nothing compared to some and I feel guilty for whinning.

Hope everyone has a wonderful long weekend. Hugs and smoochies to all

Good Morning Carla and Friends,

No big plans here this weekend. Playing with my tent trailer. Cleaning it inside and out, making new curtains, stocking it with supplies. Hope to get out in it for a couple of nights next week for a trial run here close to home. Weather is very pleasant here, kind of fallish but sunny and no wind.

Sending positive thoughts to all of you. If you have to be on the road this weekend look out for the other drivers!

Good morning Carla & all,

Vet bills = Pouty I hope your little guy feels better soon and you too.

Previosly I was scared to join the gym for fear that I would look stupid, old, fat & ugly. The first time I put on a bathing suit for the water aerobics class, I had to take an Ativan to calm my nerves. Thank goodness for Marcy and Bonnie who bolstered my spirits.

Now I go almost every day with no reservations. There are people of all ages, shapes, sizes and abilities. And, they are friendly.

As I use the weight machines I have a pleasant view of the gym. Very interesting to see the young people and their intricate tattoos. Yeah okay - I'll admit that some of those young men are pure 'eye candy". Sure makes exercising more fun.

That's my confession for today.Blushy Girl

i'm taking a second for me- michael was up all nite screaming and ranting- and drinking- so now he is sleeping it off- i almost called the sheriff  to get him out of here and may yet-

i stayed home from my voluntary work obligation today ( community parade and some other stuff -volunteer hours expected by teh bank) because i am afraid he will lite a fire - that is his way of getting rid of things...

cold and rainy and i wanna run away...
hugs and prayers

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.
