Here we go---sailing this boat together!
Are you sailing on smooth or bumpy waters? Holiday weekends can be a real challenge, especially when family tries to shoot holes in your sails. Good old Aunt Martha and her lemon meringue pie who will be crushed it you don't try it. After all, she made it for you knowing it's your favorite.
So,.....how do you handle situations like that? We need to start thinking about this now because it's September and you-know-what is just around the corner. Lots of challenging waters ahead, for sure!
Yesterday was our 28th anniversary. Wait till you see my fancy dinner....lol
bkfst burrito, cantaloupe
leftover taco soup....the end of that, thankfully
3" of a meatball sub, with only 1/2 the bun, a few baked chips
protein coffee

I decided this would be a good week to try to crawl back on the barge. I have very few things on my calendar this week and none of them revolve around food. Which may be a mixed blessing.....
Yesterday:
coffee
B: cottage cheese and cantaloupe
coffee
L: crockpot chicken with salsa
salad of cukes/tomatoes/green beans with low fat rasp. vinaigrette drsg
coffee with a scoop of chocolate protein powder. I'll call it a chocolate latte...
D: steak and mushrooms and 1/4 baked potato with butter
Crystal light
S: salad with lowfat drsg
More cherry tomatoes
"latte"
Written down, it sure looks like a lot of food. I finally measured the amount of cottage cheese I eat every day, and it's more like a half cup than a cup with, of course, half the protein I was thinking I was having. Decided to boost the protein all around, and the liquids, as they've both been low for a while. Still working on the calcium and vitamins.
Looking back on this I realize that it's the same thing I do every time I try again to get on the program. I'm planning a better outcome this time.
6 weeks, 12 lbs. I know we're not supposed to set number goals. This time I'm gonna try it. Something's gotta work.
Thank you, Susan.

Thank you, Susan.
You brought up a good point here about measuring. Not only does is make sure we're not overeating, but that we're getting enough. Our eyeballs are not measuring cups! My Nut told me the last time I saw her that almost every one of her patients sees a weight loss the first week they go back to measuring.
And what's wrong with having number goals? Even if you use your clothes as guides, they're sized by numbers......
