It's Wednesday! 7 days post surgery
Hi Jules and my OFF family:
I'm late getting on here today. Spent a little time playing and petting Juliette, getting to know here better. Don't know where she is now ... she snuck under my recliner at one point today, so I hope she's not there again. I'm worried she might get stuck under there and hurt. She likes to hide under things. She also likes to scratch on the rug, which is not a good thing. I showed her a couple of alternatives, so I hope she gets the idea. And she let me pet her and pick her up, so we're getting better acquainted.
Last night, my brother Gary called me up. My mom insisted she had to call the paramedics to go to the hospital. She said her bowels were coming out. She had been constipated, so her neighbor gave her a suppository. Well, obviously, she didn't get it all the way in, and then it started working and she started having problems. Gary offered to drive her to the ER, but she was worried about messing his car; so he said he could drive her in her car, but she still wanted to call the paramedics. So when they got to the ER, the nurse did an exam and Mom was sure they were going to do an X-ray. But the doctor saw her and said, no, she was fine, just constipated, told her to take Miralax, eat more veggies, drink more water (things my brother and I have told her to do) and she would be fine. She doesn't eat much besides bread and butter all day; she has an English muffin for breakfast; sometimes she has a hard roll with butter for lunch, and then Gary makes her something for dinner and makes her eat veggies.
These old ladies, they love riding in the ambulance and getting the attention from the paramedics!
After talking with Gary, my new friend Patricia called me; we chatted on the phone for a good hour. Wow, do we have a lot in common! I think I found a friend here.
Well, I have a killer headache today; didn't sleep all that well, kept wondering how Juliette was doing all night, plus, my knee was hurting me. So I woke up with a headache and now I had to close the windows as it started to heat up.
Jules, glad you are home and doing well. Just keep sipping tha****er. It might be hard to get all your protein in at first; you might want to get some unflavored protein to put in the veggie soup.
Connie, I hope your daughter can get some answers.
Margo, congrats (or condolences, whichever) on filing the divorce. I know this is difficult for you, but an important step. He was a big part of your life, but you need to do this.
Well, I need to get in the shower. Hope everyone has a good day.
