Julia - I am so happy that your back pain is simply your back pain and not cancer that has spread although I am sorry for the pain that you are experiencing.   You have no idea how many prayers and good thoughts went out for you, or maybe you do.  Whew!  That was a close one or at least seemed like a close one!
Happy days are here again!

Hi Eileen et al  -  I haven't really started much of my day yet.  I didn't get up until 10 or so and I've fed the dogs and not much else.
I sold my dining room furniture yesterday - a table, four chairs and one leaf.  Although I have a really nice dining room in my little, old house, I live alone and don't really need a large table.  I sold the set on kijiji for $75.00, which wasn't bad for a second hand set.  I guess that I'm feeling the need to buy because I almost went to a very large garage sale that is held monthly here over the fall, winter and spring.  Good thing I don't like getting up early because I might have purchased things I don't need.  I think that I have a transfer addiction although I've always enjoyed shopping and bringing things home.

My students have started handing in their essays and I have about 100 to mark this weekend  -  good thing it's rainy and cool or I'd be outside as much as possible. I don't really mind the marking until I get to a really poorly written essay and it stops me dead in my tracks.  I'm not sure why it does that, but I know that I find it hard to write positive comments when there is so little to write good things about.  After I hit one wall, I then will do anything for hours other than mark to avoid the situation.  I don't realize that I am avoiding until later that day when I finally get back to marking.  If only my students were perfect!!  LOL  (like I am  LOL).  I still love my job, my students and even don't mind the long days and marking-filled weekends.  I guess that when it isn't fun anymore, it will be time to retire  -  don't see that happening for a while.
Well, I have to go out in the rain and buy the dogs' groceries  -  wieners for the skinny one, broccoli, red peppers and cauliflower for both of them.  They love their vegetables!
Post more pictures of Juliette, our pet.  She is a beauty.

I seem to always be late posting, but today was a busy day.
I spent the day with my grand daughter (she is in the picture with me).  We went to Walmart, then to lunch, then we went to the movies to see the new Nanny McPhee movie.
Then much to her dismay, we had to get groceries.  Its now 6:14 pm and I'm bushed.
Low on water too...guess I 'd better get drinking.
  Hugs and prayers to all..

Hi Eileen and fellow posters

I have been checking out the posts at work but have been busy with Zumba classes.  It is something I discovered I like to do and it is fun.

Eileen, I'm glad you got another furbaby.  It took me 8 months to get 2 (Smokey and Princess, litter mates from a mama cat my SIL saved and still has).  Smokey warmed up right away but Princess is very slow to warm up.  She is finally to the point where she will walk across my lap but not quite sit on it.  She will let me pet her with my right hand but doesn't like the left because I think she doesn't like rings.  I am learning a lot about kitten psyches.  She doesn't like to be picked up and my SIL told me that when she brought the cat and kittens in from the garage, the mama ran Princess out to the garage and it is messed with her kitty psyche.   I didn't want to get another cat after we lost Candy at the age of 17 but I'm glad we did.  I think it was the point where we were ready.

Don't let the @@@@heads get you down.  You are talented and sometimes the worse thing about a job is the politics that go with it.  You have the skill--you just have to get around that.  What I find is that I have to find things outside of work I like and it makes getting through work easier.  That takes time I know.

Have a great day everyone.  ETA:  I saw Juliette's picture--she is adorable.
