It's Thursday, I am done with my work, so what's up with you?

Hello everyone!!!  It's afternoon here already but haven't had time to get online until now so I thought I'd sit down and have some "me" time and catch up some OH readings.  My day has been busy thus far.  Early this morning, my DH, daughter, sister, and myself went to the hospital where they were offering free flu shots.  I've been there before but my DH has not but he was really impressed.  Not only did they give us free shots, they gave "stuff" as he calls it away, like ink pens, note pads, keychains, etc. AND they had a huge table loaded with finger breakfast foods.  We all behaved and had coffee and fruit...not at the same time but took a piece of fruit with us to have for snack during our errands running.  We then hit several thrift stores and I found my DH LOTS of nice winter pants & shirts and even a windsuit.  Of course I found myself a few sweaters and 2 new blouses as well.  My DH had his RNY in August so he's dropping the weight faster than I can keep him in clothes.  I had forgotten how we all go through sizes so fast in the early stages.  Once we came home I put on a huge pot of beef stew on and as I'm typing this, it's simmering and has my house smelling mighty good!!!

As far as the T.V. shows...we watch so many variables that I don't dare to try naming all of them but to name a few of our most absolute favorites are:  Greys Atanomy, Private Practice, Biggest Loser, DWTS, and cooking channels.

Everyone has a blessed day, what's left of it and I'll be talking to you all later.

Hi George and my OFF family:

Getting on here really late today. I had problems sleeping last night and didn't really get to sleep until about 7 a.m., and then I had to close the window because it started to get noisy outside. I went to sleep at 1:30-2 a.m., then got up at 4 and couldn't get back to sleep ... all itchy and my knee hurt so much. Nothing was working. I finally put an ice pack on my knee and read for awhile ... that seemed to work. Juliette hasn't gotten the idea of purring me to sleep ... Scooter used to help me there. Ah, she'll get it eventually.

George, hope your Rangers can do it. Hate the Yankees. Never want them to win. I was hoping the Twins could actually get past the first round this year, but they never seemed to do it.

As for TV, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Brothers & Sisters, Desperate Housewives, The Good Wife, Medium for the oldies, Modern Family, The Middle for comedies; new ones that I like: The Event (yeah, I like these weird shows), Undercovers, Chase, Blue Bloods, Lone Star, Better With You. Started watching Detroit 1-8-7 but couldn't get into it ... just nodded off. I have so much on my DVR I have to get into watching it.

Well, have to get ready for work soon. Got up so late and then just had lunch. Next week I'm working six days ... the extra money will be nice.

Hi All,
I have to chime in on the T.V. shows. My favorites are mostly HBO and Showtime shows- Dexter, Weeds, Hung, Nurse Jackie and one regular show- Modern Family. WE always DVR the shows and watch them when we have time together. My daughter and I watch some reality shows that my husband thinks are too stupid- New York, Orange County and Washington DC Housewives and Project Runway.
I'm out of town right now and enjoying myself very much. Hope you all are doing well!

I had to chime in too about the TV shows.  I was glad to see that Julia liked Dexter, too, as I am really hooked on that show.  It's about a serial killer, but he's quite a likable guy who has some problems!  I also like The First 48, which is a reality show that shows detectives as they first start to investigate a homicide.  (maybe there's a theme building here LOL)
Since I teach sociology, I have an interest in many things like murder rates and why people murder.  My father was a Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) officer, so I guess that the fruit didn't fall far from tree.  He wanted me to join the RCMP, and if I had, I would probably be one of the highest ranking women there since they were just starting to admit women when I was of the age to join.  But the thought of actually carrying a gun AND being expected to use it was not part of my makeup, so I declined.  I'd rather teach the young people who are going to join than be one of them.
I also watch Oprah, Intervention and Rescue Me with bad boy Dennis Leary  -  I love that show.
Everybody  -  have a good day; I have some television to watch!
