hugs and prayers
I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Good mornin', ya'll.
Margo, so glad you had a relaxing, rejuvinating time away!!
I have an appointment with my surgical oncologist this morning. It's a 2 hour drive. My DH is going with me, I think. He has a bit of a tummy bug this AM and it may not be easy for him to ride 2 hours twice. There is one long stretch of the drive with no bathroom in sight. I like to have someone along so we have another set of ears. I really don't think there will be anything earth shattering said, but ya never know.
We have to close our windows at night now and turn the heat on for awhile in the mornings. Fall is here. I really like Fall and Spring here in NC.
I have to 'do pills' today. I put 12 weeks of pills in pill cases for my DH and I. He knows what he takes and could do his own. But, his fingers don't work well, and he would have more on the floor than in the pill case. It isn't a job I enjoy. That is why I do 3 months at a time. I only take 3 pills a day, so I put 4 weeks worth in one case for me. He takes 6 in the morning and 5 at night.
I hope everyone has a wonderful, peaceful, productive week.
After an absolutely awesome weekend, I am facing the reality show of my life today, work, AA and dinner with a couple of friends.
Hope each and every person reading this post has a wonderful day and as I always do, I wish each and everyone of you the peace and strength to get through whatever challenges life brings your way.
That's all folks,
Hugs, Laureen
My Mantra is that I do not determine my success by the number hanging in my closet, nor will I let the scale determine that success either. . . It is through trial and error I will continue to grow and succeed. . . Laureen

After a rejuvinating time spent with very special people, I came home to a reality check. Tom's boss closed the printing plant last Thursday. He decided to wait until I returned to tell me, not wanting to spoil my fun. We will have to be mindful of spending but things will work out. What the Hell - maybe he will become a househusband and learn to clean the bathroom.
Miss M had a little accident. She was practicing gymnastics on their sofa and fell on the arm rest. Something she was told NOT to do. Being the Drama Queen, her parents were not overly concerned. They checked her out and found no signs of cuts bumps or bruises.
She went to the bathroom and they heard screams. Mary ran in and discovered Miss M was bleeding from the vagina. Than God Dave was home. (He is a doctor) She had a tear on the outside of her vagina. Dave did not think it was bad enough for sutures which would have been too traumatic for a 5 year old without anesthesia..
They have her soak in warm water, she has had to wear a sanitary pad, and when she goes potty Mary sprays warm water to make the discomfort less. Frightening.
Then one of their new kittens was laying on the floor panting. It was drooling and one side of his face was puffy. Their first thought was some sort of poison. Rather an unlikely cause since Mary is super vigilant about keeping even cleanser under lock and key.
As Mary checked out the kitten she noticed something silver in his mouth. With Dave's help they discovered that Pongo had a jingle bell (from a cat toy) lodged in a tooth.
On the bright side, I am mentally renewd and ready to take on the world again.
Love to you
Annette
It seems like the weekend for accidents. Son and DIL went out and bought a new stove. So DIL was making Eggplant Parmesan as their first meal cooked in the convection oven. She slice off the tip of her finger in the mandolin. My son was home. Wrapped her finger up, took the tip out of the mandolin and said we are going to the hospital. He calmed their four kids and told them to get their shoes on and that they had to be on their best behavior. The kids were so good that the doctors and nurses didn't even know they were in the exam room. Couldn't use the tip and the area was too large to stitch. They shot it full of novacaine and bandaged it. Told her to take tylenol. Now she has to wait for it to heal.
Hubby is home sick with a cold. I hope he doesn't give it to me. I left for work with him snoring to beat the band this morning.
Cubs tonight. We are making a Halloween craft item and playing a Halloween Game. Then they are being tested for their Bobcat Badge.
Since seeing the WL surgeon and the psychologist last week, I am back on program and have lost 5 lbs. already. I'm feeling motivated again.
I hope everyone stays safe this week.
Hugs,
Bev

I got back from Iowa Saturday night. I was so tired. That little sweetheart of mine can sure wear me out!! Now I know why God made it so people my age don't have little ones!! I sure had fun with Gracie and Nic. It was wonderful spending time with them. Jamie is doing okay. We are waiting for biopsy results...please pray all is well....thank you!!
I best get back to work....I have extra hours to make up for some of those I missed last week.
Have a great day everyone!! Prayers for many as always.
Love and hugs to all....connie d
I was dead to the world last night. The phone rang this morning and I didn't even hear it. It was my shrink's office, canceling my appointment for tomorrow, which is good because I don't have the copay (I have $24, it costs $50). Seems the counselor who's doing the assessment is busy because her daughter's in the hospital. So it worked out OK.
This is my only day off this week; I'm working six days. The money will be nice. Unfortunately, it's all in sports.
This $70 foam for my folliculitis doesn't seem to do a lot of good ... my scalp is still really itchy. It woke me up at 4 a.m. and I finally took a benadryl to get it to stop (I'm trying not to scratch it because I don't want to get the stuff under my fingernails).
Well, there's a baseball game and a football game on tonight. So I'll have something to do at night. Go Rangers! (That's for George.)
Have a good day.
Hope everyone has a rested Monday.
